Why Should The World Trust China Ever Again?

7 04 2020

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

China’s authoritarian leader, Xi Jinping, is the face of our enemy.[2]

In an article entitled, “Kissinger’s Call for a New World Order,” Pat Buchanan—an adviser to Presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford, and a former GOP presidential aspirant himself—has written:

Among the works that first brought Henry Kissinger to academic acclaim was “A World Restored,” his 1950s book about how the greatest diplomats of Europe met at the Congress of Vienna to restore order to a continent shattered by the Napoleonic Wars.

The balance-of-power peace these men achieved lasted — with the significant exception of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871 — for the full century, from 1815 to 1914.

Writing in The Wall Street Journal Friday, Kissinger declared that it is now an imperative that the world’s leaders, even as they deal with the raging pandemic, begin to make the “transition to the post-coronavirus order.”

“Failure to do so could set the world on fire.”

Yet, the ingredients Kissinger considers essential for establishing that new world order appear, like ventilators, to be in short supply.

“Sustaining public trust,” asserts Kissinger, “is crucial … to international peace and stability.”

But how do we trust again our adversary China, after its criminal cover-up of the menace and magnitude of the virus unleashed in Wuhan?

How do we trust again this regime that was, until recently, blaming the coronavirus on U.S. Army troops visiting Wuhan?

Observing governments thrashing about in the crisis, the phrase that comes to mind is not “public trust” as much as “every nation for itself.”

On Monday, The Wall Street Journal described Europe’s recent behavior thus:

“EU countries unilaterally shut borders and hoarded vital medical gear, leaving people stranded far from home, grocery stores struggling to stock shelves and hospitals desperate to save critically ill patients.

“When Italy and Spain, reeling from some of the world’s most deadly outbreaks, urged their richer and healthier Northern neighbors to help, Dutch politicians brushed off the appeals as new signs of southerners’ mismanagement.”

Last week, the EU’s Court of Justice ruled that Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic broke EU law by refusing to relocate refugees during the migrant crisis in 2015. The three nations offered no apologies.

Last month, Greece used force to stop Syrian refugees from entering its territory. According to Human Rights Watch, Greek troops and armed men at the Greece-Turkey land border sexually assaulted, robbed and stripped asylum seekers and migrants, driving them back into Turkey. The EU has stayed largely silent.

When Donald Trump’s issued his Jan. 31 travel ban on those who had recently been in China, candidate Joe Biden denounced Trump for “hysterical xenophobia and fearmongering.”

Biden now thinks Trump did the right thing.

Even lifetime liberals can put ideology on the shelf when the voice of the people is loud and clear enough.

We must “struggle to heal the wounds to the world economy,” said Kissinger.

Yet, the crisis has revealed that a prominent feature of this global economy is that China controls the production of medicines essential to keeping Americans alive. Do we want to continue that dependency?

Says Kissinger: “The world’s democracies need to defend and sustain their Enlightenment values… (and) safeguard the principles of the liberal world order.”

But did not March 2020 prove the superior wisdom of Alexander Hamilton: “Every nation ought to endeavour to possess within itself all the essentials of national supply.”

Today, borders are everywhere being strengthened as nations compete ferociously for N95 masks and ventilators. Authoritarian rulers are seizing broader powers. The claims of family, faith, tribe, nation and country seem ascendant over all.

“The founding legend of modern government,” writes Kissinger, “is a walled city … strong enough to protect the people from an external enemy. … This pandemic has produced … a revival of the walled city in an age where prosperity depends on global trade and movement of people.”

Kissinger calls the concept of the walled city an “anachronism,” a “legend.”

But is the idea of the nation-state, whose principal duty is the defense of the health, safety and security of the unique people who created it, the “legend”?

Or is the real legend, the myth, the idea of some New World Order of countries traveling and trading happily with one another in a federation of the world?

In this coronavirus crisis, we can see clearly now, no longer as through a glass darkly.

As in most wars, it is to the men of action not the men of words to whom the people turn — to governors, not legislators or members of Congress, who are taking action, as states outbid one another for critical medical equipment.

As for Donald Trump, suddenly, the elites are berating him for being insufficiently dictatorial.

Trump, they rail, did not move swiftly enough to invoke the Defense Production Act. He failed to use its authority to dictate to U.S. companies what they must produce. He did not shut down the country quickly enough. He failed to issue orders soon enough to governors who delayed shutting down their states.

People are dying, it is now said, because Trump did not immediately become the autocrat that progressives were denouncing him for being during the impeachment hearings two months ago.[3]

First, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger is an un-American fraud and fool.  He told Admiral Elmo R. Zumwalt Jr.—then America’s Chief of Naval Operation—that the United States was on the decline and the Soviet Union was the wave of the future.  And Kissinger added that his job was to soften America’s decline.[4]

The fact is that the Soviet Union collapsed, and it is no more.  Kissinger has essentially zero credibility., and is a discredited traitorous relic of the past.

Second, China unleashed the deadly Coronavirus on the world—intentionally (as a bioweapon) or inadvertently—and it is responsible for so much suffering.  It must be brought to its knees, crushed economically, and punished for the next twenty years at least.[5]  This is how long cars manufactured by the Japanese and Germans were effectively boycotted by Americans, after their savagery in World War II ended.

Nothing less will suffice.

I agree. Trump should create a new NATO of countries who will no longer buy Chinese goods.

Thank you, Anne, for your comments as always.

I agree. My guess is that at the very least, there will be a de facto alliance of countries and/or their citizens globally, which will boycott China.

TIM:

Our ultimate strength as a nation is our people and their productivity, not the U.S. Dollar, and not how big our Military is either. China knows this. We would be better served to protect our people at all costs, except of course, our freedoms and liberties. Otherwise, there won’t be anything left worth fighting for.

Please let me quote the Financial Times (3/20/20″: “Chula Vista Police Dept. bought two Chinese made drones @ 11,000/each, made by DJI products and plans to buy more of them to keep an eye on city residents. These drones are super quiet too.

Are there no available U.S. manufactures of such drones? Interestingly, they are to be equipped with night vision, high resolution cameras, as well. Capt. Verne Sallee says these are “high performance” drones used for emergencies and soon, Corona Virus citizen compliance issues, as well. (FAA Application pending) In addition, Police Captain Sallee claims “wide spread public support for them”. Yea, right. Either he is a born liar or our citizens are not from here, to put it mildly.

Honestly Tim, we all know the Chinese are certainly NOT our friends, but to those in high levels of authority, its simply too profitable not to continue to trade with China (Defense contracts, private party contracts, Rx, etc.) Little has changed except possibly the likes of Apple making a few I-Phones in Austin, TX.

The biggest reason for China not to become a true belligerent, or for Russia, for that matter is the need for our technology and access to our huge consumer base. If we cut-off all trade with China, then we have to be prepared for a belligerence in the Asia Pacific Theater for the next 30 years. China already wants our Navy out of their region. Someday, China won’t be asking and if we are not strong enough, they will get down right rude about it. That could be war, one we are ill-prepared to fight today.

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, Mayor Carcetti is “using fear to cram-down policies which hereto-with would be totally unacceptable” and I might add, UNCONSTITUTIONAL, as well. Mayor Carcetti says: “We want you to snitch on any business that is not obeying my orders. We reward snitches here”. Welcome to East Germany on the West Coast and our own “STAZI”. Just call 1(800) RATON. No public push-back in California so far, as also the case in Washington State, New York or Florida, for example.

Listen to Laura Ingram recently on Fox News. Laura says we should be more worried about guys like Mayor Carcetti. “Who is going to protect us from our own prelates-monarchs like Carcetti”? Not China, Not the President, and not you or me either. We can, however, “bump our gums”.

No Tim, I am more concerned about what is going-on at home and will not be distracted about China, whom we have limited avenues to control anyway. They won’t listen to President Trump or any American. We all go our own way as sovereign nations, if not individuals. In reality, that is the way the world operates. Take care of America and take care of Americans but please, don’t steal our Liberties in the process thank you.

“…weakened the economy of the West that he (Bill Gates) has placed the West in the very same position as the Roman Empire. Once it was weakened from within, that becomes the calling card for others to attack. The power of the United States was not our nuclear missiles…”.

A trapper bates a trap with food or a “lure” to bring in the predator (carnivore) and take him be it by a snare or a leg-hold trap. Never put out a “lure” unless you are ready to take-on a Mountain Lion or a Canid (Gray Wolf) or a coyote. Be warned. ( One or two lions equal 10,000 shepple). Are you a lion or a sheep? Which are your neighbors or fellow Californians? Pray not sheep who are still sleeping as we speak. China likes to encounter sheep and Girly Men. They like that. I don’t.

Tim, I agree wholeheartedly with your comments. Frankly, after finishing graduate school and serving 4 years active duty in the U.S. Air Force from 1965 to 1969, I learned, then, that Kissinger was not a reliable and component advisor to our country’s leaders. He in my opinion convinced the POTUS to give away a US victory after we had lost almost 58,000 lives. I thought, then that is recommendation was treasonous. Personally, too, one of my close college friends, who was shot down after 6 months flying bombing runs over North Vietnam, had to spend 6 1/2 years in a Hanoi prison, which brought home to me the stupidity of politically-led wars. So, I have not yet forgiven Henry Kissinger for what he did to America! Therefore, I absolutely would not accept any of his recommendations, period.

Thank you so much, Ron, for your comments and your service.

I served two years on active duty assigned to the U.S. Army Element of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) at the Pentagon. Before that, I completed the Infantry Officer Basic Course at Fort Benning, Georgia, the “home of the Infantry.”

Friends of mine were killed in Vietnam for nothing. I blame the despicable JFK for getting us into the war, and Lyndon Johnson and their Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara for more than 58,000 deaths and countless “walking wounded.”

See, e.g., https://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2010/10/04/john-f-kennedy-the-most-despicable-president-in-american-history/ (“John F. Kennedy: The Most Despicable President In American History”) (see also the extensive comments beneath the article)

George W. Bush repeated the process in Iraq, where more than 5,000 Americans died and many more were wounded, and trillions of dollars were wasted—for nothing.

President Trump was interviewed by Sean Hannity last night, and he said exactly that: NEVER AGAIN.

Orwellian: Your Papers, Please, Checkpoints In The USA

[The face of America’s and the world’s enemy, China’s Xi Jinping]

WND has reported:

Talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh on Monday warned Americans of the possibility of “Your papers, please” travel checkpoints in the United States as part of the recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.

His comment comes as Trump administration officials and governors discuss reopening the economy amid the unprecendented lockdown.

Limbaugh said malls, restaurants, sidewalks and roads need to be open. He emphasized the American economy runs itself if there aren’t boundaries, noting a Massachusetts town mandated one-way walking on sidewalks to minimize contact.

He’s particularly concerned that Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has floated a plan for “immunity cards,” to identify people who have had the virus.

“Can you say George Orwell, folks?” Limbaugh said. “Do you know what an immunity card is? It is federal permission to leave your home. It is federal permission to leave your home and go to work and interact with others who are immune.

“You may not remember this, but back during the apartheid days of South Africa they had ‘pass laws.’ You remember? You had to have permission from the government to pass here, go there — and it was racist, and it was bigoted. The primary problem with immunity cards is everybody’s gonna want one.

“If immunity cards are what turns you loose — if immunity cards, instead of the Constitution, is what becomes the source of your freedom — oh, my. Phrased that way, this is doubly scary.”

To get an “immunity card,” one has to get infected then recover.

“But aside from the dangers of people trying to get infected, the very idea that we’re gonna have in the United States of America checkpoints where you have to produce your papers? We’ve all seen. . . . Well, most of us have seen these World War II movies where anywhere in the Soviet/Eastern German bloc you get to some checkpoint somewhere in Germany or Eastern Europe, ‘Papers, please. Your papers,'” he said.

“And people get nervous, search around for their papers. If they don’t have their papers, it’s the last you’ve ever seen of ’em. Do we really want that in the United States of America, ‘Papers, please,’ at checkpoints throughout American cities?

“Dr. Fauci said this is entirely possible.”

But Limbaugh called it “a bad idea.”

“We don’t want to go down that road,” he said.

“The people floating the idea of immunity certificates are dead serious about it. They’re dead serious,” he said.

See https://www.wnd.com/2020/04/rush-limbaugh-warns-papers-please-checkpoints-u-s/ (“Rush Limbaugh warns of ‘Your papers, please’ checkpoints in U.S.“) (emphasis added)

Of course Limbaugh is correct.

Some of us were in Berlin before the Soviet Union collapsed and the checkpoints and the Iron Curtain vanished. Also, I was there with West German friends shortly after it happened, when the Soviet troops were leaving the city, to return to “tent cities” in the USSR. They were selling their uniforms and plumbing fixtures from their barracks.

However, as stated in the article above, it is worth repeating and emphasizing:

China unleashed the deadly Coronavirus on the world—intentionally (as a bioweapon) or inadvertently—and it is responsible for so much suffering. It must be brought to its knees, crushed economically, and punished for the next twenty years at least. This is how long cars manufactured by the Japanese and Germans were effectively boycotted by Americans, after their savagery in World War II ended.

Nothing less will suffice.
