One thing is certain: China’s Communist rulers in Beijing are celebrating.
Their economy was “sputtering” at best, until they launched the deadly Coronavirus (or COVID-19)—as a bioweapon or inadvertently—which has decimated the United States and other countries globally.[2] Donald Trump was determined to hold them accountable, but now he is departing from the world’s stage, or so it would seem. And in his place are “Brain Dead” Joe Biden, who suffers from advancing Dementia after at least two brain operations[3]; Willie Brown’s ho Kamala Harris[4]; Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi; and others of their ilk.
America’s Left is vicious; and it is determined to erase the legacy and all vestiges of Trump and his presidency. It has attacked him endlessly since his quest for the White House began, which will continue. Because the Republican Party is effectively “dead,” there will be little or no opposition—or resistance. And Trump’s legions of loyal supporters, who turned out nationwide in the worst of weather conditions, may be cowed into believing that somehow they are the problem.
The thugs, slugs, hoods and mongrels of “Black Lives Matter,” Antifa and other far-Left groups—which burned our cities, killed or hurt innocent Americans including our police, and destroyed black and other businesses—may become the victors, which is the world turned upside down. It is tantamount to the Pigs in George Orwell’s prescient “Animal Farm” becoming the victors, and subjugating the other animals.[5] America’s Left is anti-police and anti-military, and it will attempt to gut both.
How will the Democrats reverse the course of our great republic? A few examples will suffice. In all likelihood, they will (1) legalize even more drugs, nationally; (2) legalize the illegal immigrants in our country already, and give them a path to citizenship; (3) open our borders wide, with few if any impediments to entry, certainly at our southern border; (4) destroy our energy independence by embracing the hoax of man-made “global warming,” thereby making us dependent on Middle East oil again, in whole or in part, and destroying American jobs[6]; (5) open the floodgates wide to abortions and Infanticide, which have killed ten times the number of those who died in the Holocaust, since Roe v. Wade[7]; (6) implement unconstitutional gun control; (7) attempt to “pack” the Supreme Court; (8) curtail and/or criminalize free speech; (9) seek reparations for slavery, which the Democrats instituted and perpetuated in America; (10) continue to erase our history, and tear down or deface monuments[8]; and (11) cut deals with China, which will insure that nation’s global dominance in the years ahead.
Perhaps the overriding—and underlying—theme in the United States and China today is Godlessness. Where is God in the midst of all this chaos?[9] Aside from the deadly virus that is creating so many deaths and so much suffering around the world, China has been (1) snuffing out the fledgling democracy in Hong Kong; (2) enslaving/”reeducating” the Uyghurs and other ethnic groups that number at least 1 million; (3) threatening Taiwan and our other allies; (4) waging the savage border war with India, where they just “fried” Indian soldiers with a new EMP weapon, which might be used globally; and (5) seeking global domination.[10]
It is useful to pause and put the Trump presidency into perspective. There was and is only one Abraham Lincoln, who saved our great nation and ended slavery. Similarly, there was and is only one Ronald Reagan who survived an assassin’s bullet and brought down the Soviet Union without a shot being fired. The same thing is true of Donald Trump who survived China’s Coronavirus, as well as more than four years of the “evil” Left’s efforts to destroy his candidacy and his presidency. Much of this was orchestrated by the un-American racist and anti-Semite Barack Obama and his co-conspirators, who committed treason.[11]
The Democrats continued to perpetuate slavery after our last Civil War ended—in the form of the KKK, segregation and later LBJ’s “Great Society” programs, which destroyed black families and consigned them to economic servitude. Donald Trump has done the opposite by helping minorities of all colors, religions and ethnic backgrounds; and his popularity has reflected this. Thus, he has been a threat to America’s “establishment,” both Democrats and Republicans alike.
He is the consummate “outsider,” who is beholden to neither political party, and is justifiably contemptuous of both. His very existence has evoked unbridled hatred by Democrats and RINOs alike, such as the despicable Utah Senator, carpetbagger and failed presidential candidate, Mitt Romney. Jealousy is not an insignificant factor—and our Supreme Court has betrayed the American people in the process[12].
As 2020 drew to a close, many Americans were thankful that they survived one of the worst years in their lives. Many of us know people who have died, or have been at “death’s door” before recovering. Yet, there are reasons to believe that the virus is mutating, and that it may be even more devastating in 2021 and beyond, notwithstanding the presence of one or more vaccines.[13]
If the 2020 election results were not an outgrowth of such craziness, they were certainly consistent with it—and both Orwellian and surreal.[14] Our nation is in peril, as the Godless forces of pure evil are on the verge of taking over, which George Orwell warned about.

We all thought he had the evidence to bring Pelosi and her gang in front of a military tribunal while he still had power over the military, but apparently not. He worked so hard for this country, and they are going to undo everything he did. Biden hasn’t even been sworn in, and we have already lost freedom of speech. There will never again be an honest election.

Thank you for your comments, Claudia.
First, I began my non-stop 21 years in Washington at the Pentagon, in intelligence as an Army officer assigned to the DIA. The military is very cautious; and to bring a Speaker of the House before a military tribunal is almost unprecedented. I am not enough of an American historian to know whether something like this has ever been done, or tried. But I do know that in today’s climate, our military is super cautious.
Second, he has worked hard for our country and each of us, regardless of our skin color, religion, ethnic background or even our political affiliation. This, and his political popularity, is why the “establishment” has spent more than four years trying to destroy him. He is a threat to each and every one of them. Only a “dead” Trump will satisfy the thirst of many of them. We are witnessing it in action in Washington now.
Third, as you can gather, I am a “subscriber” to George Orwell’s “Animal Farm,” where all of the animals were equal until the Pigs reigned supreme and subjugated the other animals. America’s Left consists of such Pigs today, and they are bent on fulfilling Orwell’s prophecies. Only time will tell how much they accomplish before they “self-destruct.”

I just read an article on *Zero Hedge regarding Yuri Bezmenov. Yuri Bezmenov was a KGB agent who defected to the West in 1970. In 1985, he sat down for an extensive interview in order to share his knowledge, and personal KGB experiences, as to how the Communist KGB infiltrated various nations in order to accomplish an eventual take over from within. The entire interview/video is available as a link in this article, found here:
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/looking-through-adversarys-eyes-kgb-agents-prophecy
Excerpt from the interview:
“Marxism-Leninism ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of at least three generations of American students, without being challenged or counter-balanced by the basic values of Americanism and American patriotism … The demoralization process in the United States is basically completed already … Most of it is done by Americans to Americans thanks to lack of moral standards.
“As I mentioned before, exposure to true information does not matter anymore. A person who was demoralized is unable to assess true information. The facts tell nothing to him. Even if I shower him with information, with authentic proof, with documents, with pictures. Even if I take him by force to the Soviet Union and show him concentration camp he will refuse to believe it until he is going to receive a kick in his fat bottom. When the military boot crashes him, then he will understand, but not before that. That’s the tragic of the situation of demoralization.”
“The United States is in a state of war. Undeclared total war against the basic principles and the foundations of this system… The time bomb is ticking. Every second, the disaster is coming closer and closer. Unlike myself, you will have nowhere to defect to unless you want to live in Antarctica with penguins. This is it. This is the last country of freedom and possibility.”
NOTE: although Mr. Bezmenov described the tactics that were used by the KGB, these very same methods of subversion are used by all Communists, including the Chi-Coms, along with their fellow travelers inside this country.
* I personally am not a big fan of Zero Hedge, due to their ridiculous censorship in their comments section. I was banned from their comment section due to a post that I wrote in which I detailed the documented criminal history of George Floyd. Apparently, their censors felt that stating the truth about this criminal thug was “racist.”

As you know, I have written extensively here about Russia’s killer Putin, and how Russia is likely to collapse when he is gone. Too many time zones and ethnicities are involved; and I believe it will fragment, with China taking Siberia because of its natural resources.
And yes, the “indoctrination” aka “brainwashing” of young Americans has taken place for a long time now. Where it will stop, and lead, is anyone’s guess. George Orwell set forth one path in his prescient “Animal Farm,” where the Pigs reigned supreme and subjugated the other animals.

OUR 100 YEARS WAR AGAINST COMMUNISM
In Stalin’s vernacular, We have been “normalized”, as was the case with Eastern Europe following the defeat of Nazi Germany. In fact, we have been in an ongoing 100 Years War against Marxism since the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917. Since then, The West has grown progressively softer and complacent, as well as stupid and consequently, is losing this cultural “war”.

Stalin and the Soviet Union are dead and buried, never to rise again, thanks to Ronald Reagan who brought down the USSR without a shot being fired.
And Putinism will not survive Putin. Indeed, that country may implode when he goes.
Yes, China’s leadership calls themselves Communists, but they are nothing more than brutal thugs who believe they can dominate the world.
China’s economy is growing, while their deadly Coronavirus is decimating the world, with no end in sight.

Corona virus is not decimating the world, it is in fact rarely fatal except to people already in poor health and people 60 and older especially those in failing health. I know people in their 90s who have survived covid and are doing fine.
What is decimating the world is the various government responses to covid. They are not science-based and are mostly a mish mash of feel good nonsense that won’t work. Covid is a virus and it is here to stay, just like any other flu. It will continuously mutate with new strains coming out every year – just like the regular flu. We are ssing this with the Delta variant. And just like the regular flu that most people don’t even think about, there is no reason to be so concerned about covid.
Will people get covid? Yes, they will and 99.98% of them will recover as they do now and have as long as I’ve been following the numbers which I have been doing since May 2020. The infection rate is boogeyman the government and media like to use to scare people so they can control them. There is no more reason to worry about covid than there is to worry about the phony climate change.

First, the Coronavirus and its variants (or mutations) have not run their course. Indeed, they are coming back in another wave.
See, e.g.,
https://www.timesofisrael.com/health-ministry-chief-says-coronavirus-spread-reaching-record-heights/ (“[Israeli] Health Ministry chief says coronavirus spread reaching record heights”); see also https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/17/politics/biden-measles-quarantinable-diseases/index.html (“Biden signs executive order adding measles to list of quarantinable diseases after outbreak among US-bound Afghan refugees”)
Second, people in good health are catching the virus (or its mutations), and dying or fighting for their lives. One was a dear friend who was placed on a ventilator and a coma was induced.
He has been a great athlete (surfing, skiing), and he barely survived.
See also https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10006165/Ultra-fit-Aussie-Olympic-gold-medallist-hospitalised-Covid-despite-FULLY-vaccinated.html (“Ultra-fit Aussie Olympic swimming star, 27, is hospitalised with Covid despite being FULLY vaccinated”)
Third, the vaccines have their problems, and are being rejected by many.
See, e.g., https://www.cnbc.com/2021/09/17/fda-panel-begins-voting-on-pfizers-covid-booster-doses-rejecting-shots-for-general-public.html (“FDA panel rejects plan to administer Pfizer’s Covid booster doses to general public”)
Fourth, I get flu shots every year, and have had one already. Also, after having bronchitis morph into pneumonia, I have gotten a shot for pneumonia and a booster.
Fifth, we will not know the ultimate trajectory of the Coronavirus and its mutations for many years to come.
Lastly, I agree that man-made “climate change” is a hoax, which is championed by the eco-Nazis. In another time, several hundred years ago, they might have been members of the “Flat Earth Society” and championed it too.
Pollution is a separate issue; and the greatest polluters by far are China and India.

I am sorry for your personal losses Mr. Naegle. Every death is a tragedy for the family and other loved ones. However, you are allowing emotions to cloud your analysis. The figure I gave you of 99.8% is real and you can check it yourself. It is simply the number US covid deaths vs the US population.
I’ve been admonished for not using the number of infections vs the number of deaths, but according to the CDC and other “authorities”, most people who get covid have very mild symptoms and do not see a doctor, go to a hospital or get and treatment at all. So no one knows the actual number, but all of those survivors have natural immunity and have no need of any vaccines unless they have their immune system compromised with chemo-therapy or something else.
Lastly, people are being forced to get vaccinated with unapproved, experimental vaccines, Why aren’t people first being tested to see if they have covid anti-bodies? Monoclonal antibody vaccines have been available all along, but the government won’t release them to the general population. Some months ago I read an article in the NYT by a physician who complained about the difficulty of getting monoclonal antibody vaccine for his deathly ill patients. No one knows the long-term effects of the unapproved vaccines and even many health practitioners refuse to take them for that reason.

Fifth, in essence what Yeadon has said about research and how scientists have fallen into lockstep regarding the Coronavirus applies equally to man-made “global warming,” which is a total hoax. I have written about it here many times.
See, e.g., https://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2015/11/30/a-34-trillion-swindle-the-shame-of-global-warming/ (“A $34 Trillion Swindle: The Shame Of Global Warming”) (see also the comments beneath the article)

POETIC JUSTICE AND AMERICA
We all have our limits and tolerances and our own personal views and opinions, as well. On occasion, we may politely disagree. We have not been able to turn things around using the existing political & legal system, as it has become largely non-responsive to at least half the population.
I strongly believe we here in America are in for drastic changes in the years to come. Life sure won’t go back to what it once was. Time will prove this true and correct. So, in many ways, we (voters) all richly deserve whatever we collectively get.
Whatever will now happen to us all is KARMA or the equivalent, perhaps even some poetic justice. In the process, many of us should expect to take a real drubbing during this decade. Many sense this already, at least. If so then I must say in that case, Give it As Good as You Get It. All is fair in love and war and these days, it sure ain’t love. So, Keep Your Head Down and if need be, Kick-Ass as the circumstances warrant.

Exploiting The Capitol Riot To Kill Trump
Pat Buchanan—an adviser to Presidents Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford, and a former GOP presidential aspirant himself—has written in an article with this title:
See https://buchanan.org/blog/exploiting-the-capitol-riot-to-kill-trump-142703 (“Exploiting the Capitol Riot to Kill Trump”)
Buchanan may be correct. However, what he neglects to mention about Lyndon Johnson is that “the sun [did not] come out” for him again. He could not run for reelection in 1968 because he was hated so. His Vietnam War—started by John F. Kennedy—had made him a target of national hatred.
I was an Army officer serving at the Pentagon, and I remember bumper stickers on cars in the District of Columbia that said:
The reference was to JFK’s killer.
Those were scary times; and we may be approaching similar times nationally—compounded by China’s Coronavirus, which is destroying so many lives and businesses.
. . .
What we seem to be witnessing in the American body politic are violent swings between (1) the un-American racist and anti-Semite Barack Obama who orchestrated the efforts to destroy the candidacy and presidency of his successor, which is treason; (2) the essentially-Independent presidency of Donald Trump, who has been beholden to neither political party and contemptuous of both; and (3) the even more far-Left “Obama Presidency II” in the form of his Vice President, the Brain Dead Joe Biden, and Willie Brown’s ho Kamala Harris.
Both Obama and Trump came out of nowhere politically, or so it seemed. One was our first black President who had only run for national public office once before; and the other was a billionaire real estate developer and TV personality who had never run for public office. The political pendulum had seemingly swung from pillar to post and back again. What can Americans expect next, when it is likely that Biden will serve no more than one term in the presidency, if that much?

Well said, Philip, each and every word.
China is looming; and its leadership has global designs and ambitions. Whether they launched the Coronavirus as a bioweapon or not, the fact is that they were testing bioweapons in Wuhan and possibly elsewhere.
Next, will our two coasts govern America, and will we become “California-ized”? And will the Trumpsters who attended every rally, enthusiastically, be silenced? If Trump leads them, my guess is that they will not be, which is why the “establishment” is so determined to destroy him.
I have watched at least 50 percent of his rallies, out of curiosity as much as anything else. At no time did the enthusiasm for him and his messages wane one iota. The only politician who comes to mind with similar charisma is JFK, who was totally corrupt as I have written at this blog.
No other speakers at any of the Trump rallies held a candle to him in terms of generating enthusiasm, much less delivering messages that resonated. Don, Jr. fancies himself as a successor, but he does not have the “common touch.” Neither does Ivanka. Only Eric has such qualities.
Can Trump survive the legal and political attempts to “bury” him? Will he establish a new political party and media venues to keep the Trumpsters together and united? Is his movement “just beginning,” as he says? Can the combined efforts to destroy him be defeated? Time will tell.
One thing is certain: today is a very sad day for many Americans, who will NEVER accept Joe Biden as their President. Harris is held in even more contempt.

There is only so much a President can possibly do to alter existing “Foreign relations” and foreign policies. Mostly, the Democratic Party is focused upon social issues and redistribution of income to poor and minorities, as was President Obama ( Biden = Obama 2021?). In contrast, Republicans, as far as domestic policy, are focused solely upon Tax Cuts. Both Parties want to make it harder on U.S. expats. Who wins the hearts and minds of the populace (plebes)?
Of course, the Democrats do over the long term that’s what/who. Free stuff and Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) work for a time but probably not so well after this year, I would predict. In the end, govt. debt really matters, especially when the long end of the curve is signaling it wants to go up a few bps (10-year Treasuries).
So, debt way up, interest up a little bit on existing (high) debt levels, inflation up a bit too, and afterwards, the Federal budget gets hammered or the U.S. Dollar tanks on the FX Markets. Then who pays? The Middle Class, in spades. Watch the currency markets for clues. Truth or Consequences ?
The Military has their work cut-out for them globally with limited real dollars (budget):
Confront a Rising China (Incidences of Chinese Aggression), Contain Russia ( and Putin), Manage/Control Iran. Suffice it to say in an era of diminishing resources, the U.S. Military faces considerable overseas challenges. Fact is, we are spread pretty thin around the world. Just saying.

Yes, I agree that we are spread too thin; and a day of reckoning may be coming.
Some on the Left will want to gut our military completely.

What the “Deep State” wants is not ultimately going to work-out well for you and me (America) if we think they can force other nations to conform to our liberal energy agenda or ideologies.
Our National “Religion” is “Environmentalism” (Since the early seventies), and as it is today, specifically “climate change” and the need to replace traditional essential energy sources such as oil, gas, coal with costlier, cleaner “alternatives”. Even so, wind, solar, and whatever have NOT yet proven to be economical or even able to stand on their own without huge amounts of government funding and subsidizes ( ref: Synfuels Corp. under President Jimmy Carter (D) or Solaria under former President Barack Obama).
Our collective dream is to make alternative energy work from the top down with money, politics coercion, and hope. Regardless, it still remains such unproven energy alternatives do not pencil-out economically and China (President Xi) is not about to adopt OUR “climate change” agenda nor that of the United Nations Green New Deals or the equivalent during this decade and has plainly stated so at the recent World Affairs Forum (Davos, Switzerland) annual conclave, held recently online due to Covid.
So, a risk we run is to think we can force China or anyone else to follow our lead, be it regarding environmental or clean green energy mandates or financially regarding the U.S. Dollar and SWIFT. In fact, President Xi has warned us if we go this route to expect trouble and confrontations. President Xi has issued new national policy directives to the Chinese Military: “Prepare for WAR at ANY Time”. They have a long ways to go presently.
The Chinese military recruits today are not even close to ready for a real war with anyone except possibly India and its not a global conflict by far. They have little no combat experience since Vietnam and are poorly trained, but I suspect their activities in this decade in the Asia region will give them the necessary combat experience (practice and field training) needed to up their readiness for the Major Leagues sometime after 2028. War is coming to the South China Sea Region. Our military should know this by now. Do our political leaders realize the risks ahead?
The important question for US: Will we be ready when needed? Democracies have a very poor track record in this matter of readiness for a real war. ( (1920-1939). Wars are not necessarily obsolete and today, there are many alternative forms of warfare, as well. No guarantees we can win a future “war” if unprepared and poorly led against a United, determined and much bigger opponent. We live in dangerous times.

First, we have no leadership that can deal with China effectively. The Democrats will try to gut our military just when it is needed the most.
Second, Donald Trump and Ronald Reagan before him proved that peace through strength was and is the only way to avoid wars. After all, Reagan destroyed the Soviet Union without a shot being fired, even though the evil Democrats tried to destroy him with Iran Contra.
Third, man-made “global warming” is a total hoax; and China’s leadership is laughing at us for being so pathetic in returning to the Paris climate accords. India and China are the two biggest polluters globally.

The world currently lacks any credible leaders. The United States is promoting childish approaches to very difficult issues. Figuring out a “clean” power source has been a dream for ages. We don’t need Hollywood shallowness to lead us off into a million paths leading nowhere.
It’s hard to be optimistic when the country we all looked up to for so long has descended into silliness. We all hope that serious adults will regain control. In the meantime, the rest of the world will have to look elsewhere for solutions to the very serious health and economic chaos facing it.

Needless to say, Canada will lose lots of jobs if the pipeline is scuttled, which it can ill afford in the midst of the pandemic.

pmcd has written (starting a new thread because the existing one is difficult to read on some cellphones):
“The Keystone pipeline debacle has badly damaged our energy based industry. The demonization of our oil sands, and other resource sectors, has made it impossible to coordinate energy policies with the United States for the foreseeable future. It’s a terrible blow, but Canadians are quite resilient. I suspect that this issue, at this crucial time, will mark a turning point in the relationship between our two countries. Perhaps this will be the beginning of an era when Canada finally looks elsewhere for more reliable economic and cultural partners. It is truly devastating, ranking with 3M’s refusal to honour its supply agreement of N95 masks earlier this year. It is time for Canada, despite the resulting drop in our standard of living, to begin a move away from the US as a trading, cultural and military ally. We should get out of NAFTA2, NORAD and NATO. Time to escape California/New York while we still can.
“I must point out that I have, my whole life, supported closer Canada, US relations. That view has now been shattered. It is clear that we cannot trust the US in critical times.”

Thank you, Philip, for your comments. I understand how you feel.
First, in my opinion, the Biden administration will last one term, at most. His health, after at least two brain operations, will not allow more than that.
Second, it remains to be seen which of his policies are implemented, and which die. Because of the enormous loss of jobs on both sides of the border, his pipeline decision may not stand.
Third, Canada has its own very deep problems because of “Pierre-lite” Trudeau, who seems like an utter fool.
Fourth, Canada has never had a stronger ally than the U.S. My guess is that will continue. The two nations have shared heritages and aspirations.

I certainly agree with you regarding our current PM. The only positive aspect of recent American political events is that there is finally a political leader more clueless than Justin.
The pipeline problems started with the Obama administration. The resulting delays have decimated Western Canada. To be fair, much of that is self-inflicted by our own federal government. It has been an energy gadfly for some time. Nevertheless, we are in a crisis and can no longer afford to be led by children. When President Biden informed our PM that they were canceling Keystone, yet again, our PM should have given notice that we would be withdrawing from the organizations I previously mentioned. Of course he didn’t, as he wishes to retain his fine woke status. It’s most unfortunate to have an empty shell as leader.
Certainly, the US has been a great neighbour, and we have/had so many shared values, economies, friendships and history. However, one would not wish to go into battle with an ally ready to sacrifice soldiers on the basis of citizenship, as opposed to optimal tactics against the enemy. The N95 mask issue earlier this year left our nurses helpless. I understand the need for governments keep their citizens safe. We should never have allowed production of PPE to move out of Canada. Canadians need to look out for themselves. No one else will.
Finally, while the Biden administration may not last, the stage is set for whoever is really in charge to continue oppression of American citizens, as well as others who get in the way. I do not relish being muzzled by the new oligarchs of digital America. They need to be stopped from their newly acquired love of censoring citizens from other countries. When one considers them, the finance markets, the Chinese thugs of the CCP, etc… it tends to induce an extreme dislike for these relatively new overlords. I suspect that developing options would not be such a bad idea.

Again, Philip, thank you.
First, my sense is that your Prime Minister is a buffoon, who was elected because of his father Pierre; and that at best, he is “Pierre-lite.” Indeed, he is an “empty shell as [a] leader.”
Second, the underlying issue that you pose is whether the United States can be trusted. I do not trust Joe Biden; and I certainly trust those around him even less. They are Left-wing crazies.
Third, please read or reread George Orwell’s prescient “Animal Farm,” wherein all animals were equal until the Pigs reigned supreme and subjugated the other animals. It is my belief that the current generation of Pigs will “die” like previous incarnations of them.
Lastly, we owe all or most of the chaos in the world to China, which unleashed the Coronavirus as a bioweapon or inadvertently. Americans, Canadians and others are dying or being destroyed economically by China’s actions.
Because China is dependent on oil, it can be brought to its knees by cutting off its oil supplies. I have advocated doing this for some time; and boycotting all Chinese products and those that contain Chinese components.
My article advocates this; and the citizens of the world can vote with their pocketbooks. They don’t need governments telling them what to do.

Yes, I agree that the psychological effects in America and globally may far exceed the physical damage; and of course that includes the loss of jobs and the collapse of businesses.
As I have written in my Coronavirus article that was published nationally on June 1st, and in my articles and comments here and elsewhere, the virus will not end anytime soon. I predicted the end of this year in my June article; Bill Gates (Microsoft) predicted next year; and the CEO of Moderna says it will be with us forever, like the flu.
Again, China’s economy was teetering before it unleashed the virus, as a bioweapon or inadvertently. The goal of China’s Communist rulers is global domination; and the virus is helping them to achieve that goal, sooner rather than later, or so it seems.

It was held together by Stalin and then Putin. But with the death of the authoritarian Putin, it may unravel. My sense is that China covets Siberia because of its natural resources, and may seize it.

100% agree about Russia’s future. Secession Movements all around the world, accompanied by more civil wars and unrest, as well as possible revolutions will be a growing trend for most of this decade. However, China will act just like any growing nation, sic. empire before it during its ascendancy.
For example, as Spain was a dilapidated Empire, a rising America took control of it and set-up military bases. (Sinking of the battleship Maine in Havana, Cuba and the onset of the Spanish American War). Similarly, we had already taken a big part of Mexico (from Spain again) and incorporated it into our growing nation back in the day. New major powers often take what (land) they want, as we did vis-a-vis “Manifest Destiny”. China will be no different. We are the sick man of the West now.
No, China will probably not take portions of Russia (Siberia), as least at first. Rather, China has given numerous indications they are first going to take-over or control break-away Taiwan. In fact, I see it as a real possibility by 2025. By then, our over-extended and underfunded (unready) military and inept political leadership (National Weakness) will intersect with a more capable, embolden Chinese Military and at that point, China is more likely retake Taiwan back into the fold by force if necessary.
An enfeebled Uncle Sam won’t be able to do a thing about it by then either. The U.N. will shrug it shoulders. If we go to war over it, we will pay an awful price, as do “has-been” prizefighters who are too old to fight but go back for one more bout and lose. Its probably a fait accompli at this point after the defeat of President Trump. Sit back and watch it happen. History, as it turns-out DOES repeat quite similarly.

Thank you, Craig. All astute observations.
First, China has been testing us for decades. Trump was, and may be in the future (possibly as early as 2024), an impediment to their goals and aspirations. They have taken somewhat “baby steps” with Hong Kong, and may attempt a complete takeover of Taiwan. My guess is that even with Joe Biden, they will proceed “gingerly.”
Years ago, as I have mentioned here, I bought the largest minority bank in the United States for clients in Hong Kong, which was headquartered on the edge of Chinatown in San Francisco. The key management in Hong Kong kept a “foot” in Vancouver so they could flee there if necessary.
My guess is that Hong Kong’s complete subjugation is close to completion. China’s next target may be Taiwan, which I believe would be a strategic mistake by Beijing. All bets would be off, however, if Kamala Harris ascended to the presidency.
The UN is essentially history and worthless, and simply a forum for third-world nations.

PARTY OF WAR
Nov. 22, 1963 was actually the Day both a President and the Country “died” because after that, we ramped-up our military involvement in Vietnam to the cost of thousands of American Lives. Its continued in war and conflict abroad without end. President Trump, to his credit tried to end all the pointless wars in the Middle East and bring American troops back home.
In addition, he tried to bring home troops from Europe and close some bases in Europe, as well. The Deep State had to get rid of President Trump or their might have been peace for a change. Now, we have the prospect of more (endless) wars. Democrats are the party of WAR.

Thank you, Craig. I agree.
I was caught up in the events of 1963, which you describe. I had an Army commission as an officer when I graduated from UCLA. The Vietnam War was heating up, so I decided to go to graduate school, hoping the war would be over when I finished.
I wanted to go to business school, not law school, but I needed to work to get enough money for either. The Army would defer me for law school, but not business school because the latter started within days of my graduation. Thus, I chose law school, and it changed my life forever.
I walked out of my class at Berkeley’s Boalt Hall to travel to LA for Thanksgiving, only to learn that JFK had been shot in Dallas. The “Free Speech Movement” erupted on the Berkeley campus, followed by nonstop anti-Vietnam demonstrations.
After law school, I trained at Fort Benning, Georgia, the “Home of the Infantry,” which was “ground zero” for Vietnam War training. After that, I was assigned to the U.S. Army Element of the DIA at the Pentagon, where I spent almost two years before going to the U.S. Senate.
As we know, LBJ escalated that war; and friends of mine were killed there. Tragically, like the later Iraq War, their deaths were senseless.
Our great President Donald Trump stopped the madness of foreign wars.

Your posts are always thought provoking and I have been thinking about the consequences of this stolen election. The US has been socialist for a long time, but a recent post on a different website explaining the differences between “American Liberalism” and European socialism. It first mentioned that our definition of liberalism is not true liberalism because the left is not about liberty and personal responsibility. It is about authoritarianism and victimhood. You can also add to that thought-control and indoctrination. However, I think there is another difference between US socialism and European Socialism. The US is a fascist country. Some might even call it corporatism with the leftist corporations now censoring public speech. Even so, I think the classical term suits it just as well. The corporatists are in charge though and they have won. The crimes committed in DC will go unpunished because those are the political scum who make and carry out the phony law for our completely corrupt and also phony legal system.
I do disagree with one part of your post though. Abraham Lincoln was nothing but a butcher who walked all over the constitution so he could start an unconstitutional war. The US has never had a civil war, it was a war of succession and the southern states had a constitutional right to secede. Lincoln started the war by re-arming Fort Sumpter – a provocative act that he knew would result in the South firing on the Fort. The only good thing to come out of that war was Lincoln’s assassination. It is too bad 1.5 million people had to die to satisfy Lincoln’s bloodlust first. And please don’t try to tell me Lincoln freed the slaves. He never freed a single person. He used slavery as a rallying point the same way Constantinople used the Christians. Lincoln even tried to create a slave rebellion of blacks to murder, rape and pillage his fellow countrymen. Lincoln was a savage butcher and nothing more.

Thank you for your comments. Obviously you have thought these issues through.
First, I know America well, and love it. I am by no means an expert with respect to the distinctions between American and European liberalism.
Clearly George Orwell gave considerable thought to European liberalism/fascism in his writings, notably “Animal Farm” that I have discussed many times here.
He was concerned about the Pigs taking over, and subjugating the other animals, which arguably is the goal (stated or unstated) of America’s Left today.
Second, with respect to Lincoln, he was tough beyond belief; a “savage butcher” as you describe him. He “sifted through” his generals until he chose Grant and Sherman; and they destroyed the South, with no mercy shown.
He was a lawyer who had contempt for our legal system, as I do. Perhaps the South had a legal right to secede, but Lincoln was determined not to let that happen.
With respect to slavery, he initially thought before the war that the best solution was to ship the slaves back to Africa, but he abandoned that idea as being impractical.
Third, and presumably you will disagree vehemently, we have a nation today because of Lincoln, albeit the human costs were horrendous. Otherwise, we might have separate nations on the North American continent. Our history would be totally different.

Will he rise again, despite their concerted efforts? It remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: his faithful are not going away anytime soon, nor losing their ardor.
Your last clause sets forth a key if not the key issue: will peace aka a healing be possible? As President, Grant tried to bring about a healing after our last Civil War, and finally gave up.
It is 2021, and that war ended in 1865; and even today we are trying to heal the wounds of that war, with movements such as “Black Lives Matter.”

“The West has become comfortably materialistic. The virus makes predictions difficult, but assuming it fades away, for whatever reasons, the idea that people will rise up against the federal government is not believable. Moreover, the difference in weaponry between the military and civilians is enormous in 2020. We are all tied in via the internet, watched and far too pampered for any mass successful uprising. Violence would not work. It is not even clear that passive, peaceful resistance would have a major impact. Only time, better ideas and the dying off of those who managed to gain the upper hand provide room for a bit of optimism. We have become far too complacent, materialistic and removed from God to stand up to much. Soon, abortion, humanism and relative values will become second nature. In the United States, it is hard to imagine those with a belief in God, basic liberties and the importance of the individual escaping the control of the progressives who have achieved power. This cannot be overturned by violence, or even by political means. Hopefully, God has thought this out. In many ways, the US is now following in the path selected by Canada back in the early 1960’s. I do hope I am wrong.”

Thank you, Philip, for your well-articulated observations. At first reading, I cannot disagree.
However, let me seize on one word, “progressives.” Ever since the Democrats and the American Left seized on this label, and used it to describe themselves, I have taken umbrage with it. Having begun as a Democrat and having left the party after working in the U.S. Senate, I found NOTHING progressive about them. Quite to the contrary, they have cleverly adopted the label to mask their evil actions.
As I have stated many times here, on leaving the Senate, I concluded that the Democrats were “evil ” but smart, while the Republicans were “Neanderthals” and dumb. I have never changed that opinion, which is why I became an Independent and am proudly one today.
Also, as I have noted many times here, approximately 35-40 percent of Americans are Independents, who have rejected both political parties. And approximately 75 million Americans voted for Donald Trump; and many/most of them are adamantly opposed to the Left.
Where does any of this leave us? The “800-pound gorilla” in the room are the deadly Coronavirus and its mutations. My Coronavirus article was published nationally on June 1st; and in it, I blamed China in no uncertain terms. I urged that China must pay reparations in the trillions of dollars; and global consumers must boycott anything and everything from China, and cripple China economically at the very least. Denying China’s much-needed oil would be the final blow.
Under Trump, lots of this might have happened; and the robust growth of our economy might have occurred. Now, all bets are off. Indeed, America’s Left may cripple our economy, and create an oppressive state apparatus, much like George Orwell predicted in his prescient “Animal Farm.”
If so, “comfortable materialism” may decline if not disappear. Because the Coronavirus and its mutations may be with us for years if not decades to come, like the flu, the physical and psychological and economic effects may be staggering, unlike anything we have witnessed in our lifetimes.
I agree with the CEO of Moderna that the virus/viruses will not “fade away.” What does this augur for the notion that the American people will rise up against the Pigs that Orwell envisioned as subjugating the other animals, namely us? Will we have been so beaten down and cowed that any meaningful resistance is impossible?
What the Left underestimates is the intensity of the anger on the part of many/most Trump supporters. Any notions of national healing or unity seem to be pipe dreams and fanciful thinking, at most. And no, our military and law enforcement will not be arrayed against the Trump supporters. Quite to the contrary, I believe they will be “brothers in arms.”
I concur that “passive, peaceful resistance” is unlikely to be effective against the Pigs, but I don’t rule that out completely. Biden, the Democrats and their “fellow travelers” may be in the process of overestimating the “mandate” that they received as a result of their election skulduggery. If so, they may be in for a rude awakening.
Because Biden may be a one-term President at most, the Left’s political fortunes may be short-lived. And no, I do not believe we will have to wait for the “dying off” of those in power today. The seeds of their own destruction may have been sown.
Where is God in all of this? Or is God even present? In my opinion, America’s Left is Godless. The destruction of organized religion in the United States would be music to their ears, which is why they have zero problems with the closing of our churches and the banning of such assemblies, as being necessary to combat the virus.
Lastly, someone else from Canada has suggested that the United States may be on a trajectory similar to that of our neighbors to the north. I do not believe so, but time will tell.

Just as you don’t like the way the Left has stolen the word “progressive” for their PC advantage, they have stolen many other words to hide behind such as “liberal”. But the Left didn’t really start this, the Republicans did. As with the Left, everything about this country is a lie. The US has never had a civil war, it had a war of secession, but most people will not believe that if you tell them because your average American is dumb as a brick. Republicans also created the first hate speech laws leading up to the corporate fascists censoring public speech. The far left, economy destroying EPA was created by Republicans. People think we are the peacemakers in the world, but the truth is we are the most militarily aggressive nation in the world today. Just during the “cold war” our government worked to overthrow the governments of 72 sovereign nations, yet our politicians cry about foreign influences in our elections. Tit for tat, I say. The phony whiners should be happy none of them tried to enforce their efforts militarily. Not a single police action or war since the end of WWII has been about preserving our democracy or defending our country. Anyone who says so is either a liar or a deluded fool. And America is a country of fools. The Left knows it and they have used it to their advantage.

“The terms progressive, liberal, social democrat, conservative etc… keep changing meaning, so it’s become difficult to refer to the various groups moving in and out of the labels for their own tactical benefits. For example, I have always thought of myself as a conservative liberal, but that label seems to offend everyone these days. My rather limited view of American politics is that a majority of Democrats, some Republicans and an unknown percentage of independents which to move towards a socialist state, in the sense that they would prefer the federal government to handle the risk part of their lives ( health care, social security, physical security, education, etc…). Individualism is on its way down, group think is doing well. It’s most alarming.
“I have been thinking of the virus now for almost a year, dusting off my rusty tools used while Professor of Statistics at the University of Toronto ( my own views, not theirs, for anything I say) for almost 40 years. My research areas included the evaluation of evidence and the analysis of moving particle systems. Quite related to epidemics, but I have no expertise in biological matters. Unfortunately, the situation with the virus has been so complicated that I have been unable to be certain of much. I will go into that at some point, should it appear useful. Oh to be 25 years younger…
“My comments regarding the military and citizens were not meant to suggest that the military would turn against the population. Rather, I feel that the 2nd amendment of your constitution does not really protect individuals’ freedom from central governments. The tools and level of force available to these governments are massive, and could not be overcome via internal violent resistance.
“The withholding of fossil fuels from China is not going to happen, though the idea is good. Certainly Canada would not take part. Our current enemy, as far as fossil fuels go, is the United States. We absolutely need to realign ourselves away from the “leftists” currently running America. A map of pipelines in Canada has me shocked. Our own country cannot ship fossil fuels from our western provinces to our central provinces without passing through the US. I was not aware that all of our east west pipelines pass through American states, and the governors of those states have just vowed to shut them down along the Keystone lines. This ranks with Russian threats against Ukraine. Canada must build its own pipelines within our borders, align with friendlier countries and prepare for the worst. It’s an absolute crisis.
“I actually agree that the US is heading towards a trajectory similar to that followed by Canada since the 1960’s. You will see it as health care is centralized, abortion becomes widespread, climate change is used to push certain pet policies, Israel becomes isolated, religion taken from the public square, your history’s weaknesses emphasized with suitable apologies issued to every convenient perceived harmed group and, finally, a move away from the principle that all people are created equal.
“President Biden may very well be a one term president, but the group running him will do everything to ensure long term control by the real force, which appears to be linked to President Obama. The Republicans now appear to be divided. The supporters of President Trump cannot go anywhere. They are boxed in, much like those of Ross Perot. The information war against President Trump appears to have succeeded , and much of the good he brought in has been erased by misinformation and an odd account of events in Washington. I fear you will be run by Democrats for a very long time. Unfortunately, the pigs have discovered the fountain of youth.”

I respectfully disagree that individualism is on its way down. Indeed, that’s what the very impressive Trump rallies were all about, and it has undergirded his movement.
And yes, the issues surrounding the Coronavirus are complicated and “layered.” I discussed most of them in my June article that was published nationally. Its conclusions and observations are still valid.
See https://naegeleblog.files.wordpress.com/2020/05/timothy-d.-naegele.pdf (“The Coronavirus And Similar Global Issues: How To Address Them”)
Also, I believe the military and law enforcement would not turn against genuine Trump supporters. Indeed, the two groups share common beliefs and goals; and both have suffered at the hands of the Left. For example, as I have said many times here, the thugs, slugs, hoods and mongrels of “Black Lives Matter,” Antifa and other far-Left groups have burned our cities, killed or hurt innocent Americans including our police, and destroyed black and other businesses.
With respect to China, I believe Trump would have done whatever was necessary to bring its Communist rulers to their knees, which means “crushing” their economy; and their Achilles heel is oil.
Your fifth paragraph speaks for itself, and presents a scenario of complete victory by the Left. I do not believe this will happen in the “one-term at most” Biden presidency.
Lastly, there are zero doubts that the un-American racist and anti-Semite Barack Obama feels he has been vindicated by the Biden presidency. Instead, he and his co-conspirators should be imprisoned for their efforts to destroy the candidacy and presidency of Donald Trump, which is treason. This may never happen, but I believe it should happen, at the very least.

More and more, I am of the belief that this is all by design.
America, with all of its faults, remains the world’s last bastion of individual freedom and liberty. America also, for now, remains the world’s preeminent super power. As such, we stand in the way of the Globalist Elites who seek to create their dream; a despotic, totalitarian, One World Government. It appears that their dream may be accomplished via the “Great Reset,” in which, even the ownership of private property will be a thing of the past. Individual liberty and freedom will also disappear!
IMO, the next step on the Globalist’s agenda will be a huge financial crisis that will dwarf that of 2007-8. If this happens, the people themselves, faced with absolute ruin, will cry out for the implementation of the “Great Reset,” all cheered on by the corporate owned Ministry of Propaganda, aka, the mainstream media.
Our leaders, upon taking their oath of office, swear to protect America against “enemies, both foreign and domestic.” I wonder how many of them ever give their solemn oath even a passing thought?
