When A Publishing Company Masquerades As A Christian Church, Its Fraud Must Be Exposed And It Must Be Boycotted

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

Christianity is the largest religion in the world[2], but it is under attack, perhaps like never before.  At a time in human history when so many Americans and others are dying and suffering globally, hope is needed more than ever, each and every day.

Churches and other places of worship have been closed by the Coronavirus pandemic lockdowns.  And just when some modicum of normality seemed to be returning, the Omicron variant or mutation emerged, with other mutations being possible in the future.[3]

Fully-vaccinated individuals are dying from the virus’ effects.  Healthcare facilities are overwhelmed, as workers call in sick, while others take early retirements.  And routine operations are being canceled.[4]

As if this were not enough, inflation is rampant and adding to the ranks of homelessness[5]; devastating wars are possible[6]; and depression and other mental challenges seem overwhelming.  If there was ever a time to seek God or one’s Higher Power, now is it.[7]

Yet, one American publishing company is masquerading as a Christian Church, which is fraudulent and an abomination unto itself.  Instead, of helping Americans and others, Unity[8] portrays itself on Facebook as a “Nondenominational Church,” when in fact it is nothing more than a for-profit business entity.

Almost 100 years ago, my family began reading Unity’s Daily Word and its uplifting, inspiring messages. For years, I gave subscriptions to others.  Today, Unity publishes a vast array of products, for which it charges money, which is understandable.  But its Daily Word lessons or messages can be offered online for free each day, so those in need of healing or inspiration can find it.

Outright fraud occurs when Unity continues to masquerade as a Christian Church, instead of sharing the Truth that it is nothing more than another greedy capitalist enterprise, which is debasing the teachings of Jesus, and whose linkages to Jesus were presumably lost a long time ago.  To hide the Truth, it censors or deletes the comments of even its subscribers.[9]

[9]  Never did the author contemplate that this article would be necessary.  But Unity was put on notice that it was not serving the poorest among us and those most in need, and it failed to act.  Moreover, it deleted the thoughtful comments of a female subscriber who complained, which was unconscionable.  Hence, it seems inescapable—and tragic—that Unity is run by heathens today who run roughshod over those who find their practices abhorrent.

Lastly, in no way does the author hold himself out as some paragon of virtue, or as a religious zealot.  However, he believes that most Daily Word messages or lessons have value, especially for those who are most in need; and that they should be offered for free online, on a daily basis.  Those who wish to subscribe to Unity’s many written publications are free to do so.

THE CONTEMPORARY ART OF DECEPTION

I have noticed that these “days” we have essential unrestrained official and unofficial corruption. Thus, corruption has become nearly ubiquitous in modern times. Nobody should be surprised at all the social pathologies that spawn from a secular society, such as we now are. Church attendance is way down in just the last 25 years. Covid just contributed to a long established secular social trend in America.

In-addition, various organizations and entities seek to enforce conformity and use censorship and peer pressure as a tool to “whip people into line”. This amounts to intimidation and coercion, common tactics of the Authoritarian Left.

Another major theme of our times is lying and deception. What is a “church” and what is the commonly accepted or official definition of Church? Is the IRS definition our cultural definition (Tax Exempt Organization)? Unity is clearly a religious publisher, but is trying to market itself as much more towards what ends? Do words have true meaning today?

Another social trend of our times is the prevalence of “proxy wars” at home and abroad where various individuals are enlisted in one cause or side or the other and act indirectly on their enabler’s behalf. Joe Biden and Mitt Romney are similar politicians in this respect: The both seek group identity outside of their faith. Many others seek some form of validation either from social status or a reward from some group, as well.

Seems to me nearly everyone has some kind of personal “agenda” and desires to gain a competitive advantage over others. We need enforceable rules to keep competition from morphing into a bar room brawl. We have an unlimited supply of “useful” idiots who can be bribed or bought-off in the Left’s cause. In-short, we are up for sale and are willing to sell our soul for love of money. Truth and loyalty are hard commodities to come-by today.

Wow, you are become quite the social scholar, Craig, and erudite.

I have read your comments over the years; and this set is well-crafted, tightly-written, and essentially flawless.

We live in a world today where forces large and small are jockeying for advantages; and at the very least, most Americans are overwhelmed.

Throw in the Coronavirus, and we need all of the help that we can get.

See https://m.arcamax.com/currentnews/newsheadlines/s-2629545 (“Bay Area calls on homeowners to help house homeless residents”)

When Unity won’t even open up its online website to those who are hurting and in need, no one can expect the publishing company — masquerading as a Christian Church — to open up homes to them.

Indeed, Unity’s hypocrisy seems to be endless.
