The Slaughter At Uvalde, Texas

27 05 2022

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

At the moment, the attention of Americans and others around the world is focused on the small town of Uvalde, Texas[2], where young students and others were slain by a single unhinged gunman.  All of the facts are not crystal clear yet, including whether and how the massacre could have been prevented.  Blame is being thrown around; and typically some are trying to exploit it for their own political gains.  Since national elections will occur in November, which may alter the direction of our great nation, demagogues are in abundant supply.[3]

People in other countries question why the United States is beset by such unspeakable violence again and again.  Some cite almost 400 million firearms in the possession of Americans today.  Others cite the inability to spot and deal with mental health problems.  Others cite the attacks on our police and other members of law enforcement, as making them reticent to put their own lives on the line.

The shooter was 18 years old; and he shot his own grandmother in the face before beginning his rampage.  How did he obtain and learn how to use his arsenal of weaponry; and how did he afford it and hide it?  The hero was an off-duty border patrol agent, who was getting a haircut when his wife texted him, saying there was an active shooter at the school where she teaches, and which their 8-year-old daughter attends.  Borrowing a weapon from his barber, he went to the school, and the rest is history.[4]

Violence and deaths are in the news each and every day, globally.  Russia’s Vladimir Putin launched his vicious war against Ukraine recently, with no end in sight.  China’s deadly Coronavirus pandemic is resurgent again, with the latest variants overriding vaccines and their boosters; and China is threatening Taiwan.  North Korea’s Kim Jong-un is testing devastating weapons; and the list goes on and on.  Our churches are targeted; and at times one wonders where God is, in the midst of so much chaos.  The answer is: here, there and everywhere.[5]

UVALDE ELEMENTARY SECURITY “OPEN DOOR POLICY”

I think, at a minimum, that public schools EVERYWHERE must better secure their own grounds. For example, the elementary school in Uvalde, TX left one of the main building doors open. Preliminary investigations indicate the young shooter (sic. killer) freely entered this open door and immediately began his shooting rampage. There was NO SECURITY posted inside this school. Some common sense, please.

Perhaps President Joe Biden is confused regarding today’s Executive Order (EXO) on “Police Reform” as it pertains ONLY to the Federal Police ( they only provide security for Federal buildings and property nationwide). The Democrats still want these reforms passed into law at all levels nationwide, plus eliminating “qualified immunity” for all police and County Sheriff enforcement personnel locally and at the state level, as well.

https://thehill.com/news/administration/3501810-biden-signs-executive-order-on-policing-reform/

Clearly, the days of laissez-faire premise security at ALL public schools have long since passed. Taxpayers need to ante-up and bring public school security into conformance at a level commensurate with today’s many threats to public safety. ( Its NOT the 1950’s anymore anywhere, be it a small town or big city, blue or red state). This is a state and local issue according to the U.S. Constitution. Act now or be prepared to lose your Constitution. Use it or lose it.

Thank you, Craig.

Yes, this is a state and local issue; and Uvalde is a little town of about 15,000. Violence, crime and wackos are too prevalent in this country today.

They seem to be a sign of the times. Chaos everywhere, domestically and abroad. And when Brain Dead Joe, Beto O’Rourke and others demagogue it, more chaos is sown.

The following article is worth reading.

See https://www.thedailybeast.com/father-of-uvalde-shooter-salvador-ramos-says-he-shouldve-just-killed-me (“Father of Uvalde Shooter Salvador Ramos Is Sorry for School Shooting”)

There may be millions of American kids who fit this description, or at least come close to it. Also, there are “copycat killers.”

See, e.g., https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10859495/PICTURED-Two-boys-four-arrested-plotting-AK-47-massacre-Texas-school.html (“Two boys aged 17 who were among four arrested ‘for plotting AK-47 massacre at Texas school’ days after shooting in Uvalde that killed 19 children and two teachers: Cops deny claim suspects wrote ‘hit-list'”)

Lastly, there are so many human tragedies emanating from Uvalde and other sites like it. But one is worth reading and reflecting on.

See https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10859315/Haunting-video-shows-widower-Texas-teacher-laying-flowers-memorial-just-hours-died.html (“Haunting video shows widower of Texas teacher shot in massacre laying flowers at memorial just hours before he died ‘of broken heart,’ with couple’s orphaned children later attending mass to pray for their late parents”); see also https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10860747/Texas-cop-says-Uvalde-officers-retreated-gunman-shot.html (“Texas cop says officers didn’t rush to find gunman because ‘they could have been shot’ then claims they DELIBERATELY locked inside classroom to save other students: Experts slam ‘disgusting’ decision that doctors say sealed the fate of injured kids”)

GOD (LOVE) IS POTENTIALLY EVERYWHERE

Love is everywhere, but at the same time, evil remains universal, as well in a Fallen World ( Book of Genesis). So, the weeds grow in conjunction with the wheat until the Day is Over. “It rains on the just and the unjust” alike (Matthew 5:45).

This is the real world and just like predictable human nature, it remains essentially the same world for the past 5,000 years. Overseas foreign observers and historians are starting to see America as possibly the “next Greece” of antiquity. Greek culture was eventually incorporated into a larger Roman Empire.

Similarly, We Too may eventually be absorbed into a larger, world government through the U.N. (World Health Organization) and Klaus Schwab’s World Affairs Forum in Switzerland (Davos People). History does tend to repeat due to human nature which remains unchanged at its core. We certainly are headed in this direction. Its a trend now. Just think, we voted for it. Bad choice.

Thank you, Craig.

Alexander the Great changed the world; and without him, Christianity would not have spread, much less become the dominant religion in the world today.

Are we entering the “dark ages”? Not if Brain Dead Joe and Willie Brown’s former ho Kamala are gone, along with Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, both of whom have serious health problems.

FANTASY LAND

Every now and then, we go to Disneyland to escape our daily grind and unwind. Fantasy works for a short while but soon wears-off. This is quite applicable to what we ourselves have created and collectively chosen, as well. Unfortunately for many would-be escapists,”Politics” has adverse social, economic, and financial consequences, as we are all finding-out the hard way after two years. Its not all ‘transient’ either.

Californians who moved to Texas in recent years are learning Texas has quite a few problems of its own. The world has caught-up with Texas in BIG Way, as it always does eventually. Texans reputedly always do it Bigger if not Better.

Very true with President Biden ( senility) and President Xi and Putin, as you say. Adolph Hitler suffered many, many plots against his life, and quite a few close calls (Bavaria, Wolf’s Lair-1944 ), as well. Many plots to kill Saddam Hussein before our invasion of Iraq. My point is these leaders can last longer, much longer (years) than people either wish or hope.

While you and I can outwit or outlast most individual opponents, this may not work in foreign relations with adversaries (sic. enemies). They can still cause us much more harm in the intermediate term and probably will. “Magical Thinking” is not a particularly effective coping mechanism on an individual basis or national basis, for that matter.

Thank you again, Craig.

Vladimir Putin has been predictable since he was a KGB-trained killer in the former DDR, or East Germany. He has an unbridled thirst for killing, power and wealth.

When the Soviet Union imploded, he joined Boris Yeltsin; and I have followed his career path ever since. My first article about him appeared here in 2010, more than 12 years ago; and I have written many since.

See https://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2010/02/09/russias-putin-is-a-killer/ (“Russia’s Putin Is A Killer”); see also https://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2015/11/29/the-death-of-putin-and-russia-the-final-chapter-of-the-cold-war/ (“The Death Of Putin And Russia: The Final Chapter Of The Cold War”) and https://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2017/10/20/the-real-russian-conspiracy-barack-obama-the-clintons-and-the-sale-of-americas-uranium-to-russias-killer-putin/ (“The Real Russian Conspiracy: Barack Obama, The Clintons, And The Sale Of America’s Uranium To Russia’s Killer Putin”) and https://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2019/07/02/is-putin-right/ (“Is Putin Right?”) and https://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2021/12/07/a-cowards-approach-to-russias-pygmy-putin/ (“A Coward’s Approach To Russia’s Pygmy Putin?”) and https://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2022/01/27/ (“Will Putin Seize Ukraine, And If So When?”) and https://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2022/02/24/russias-kgb-trained-killer-putin-may-be-more-dangerous-than-hitler-or-stalin/ (“Russia’s KGB-Trained Killer Putin May Be More Dangerous Than Hitler Or Stalin”) and https://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2022/02/27/putin-must-be-treated-as-a-war-criminal/ (“Putin Must Be Treated As A War Criminal”) and https://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2022/03/12/terminate-putin-now-and-the-war-in-ukraine-may-end-and-world-war-iii-might-be-avoided/ (“Terminate Putin Now, And The War In Ukraine May End, And World War III Might Be Avoided”) and https://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2022/03/20/rip-joe-biden-and-vladimir-putin/ (“RIP Joe Biden And Vladimir Putin”) and https://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2022/04/16/putin-must-die-now/ (“Putin Must Die Now”) and https://naegeleblog.wordpress.com/2022/05/05/let-the-celebrations-begin-putin-will-die-soon/ (“Let The Celebrations Begin—Putin Will Die Soon”)

One might argue that I have an obsession about him. If so, it’s because I view him as pure evil; and like Hitler before him, he has been fully capable of launching World War III and changing all of our lives. Just think about how many lives would have been saved if Hitler had been stopped early on.

If Brain Dead Joe Biden hadn’t assumed the presidency, and screwed up everything that he touched – quite literally – Putin would not have been emboldened to move on Ukraine, and Xi Jinping would not be moving on Taiwan, etc., or so I believe.

Donald Trump had them in “check,” in the vernacular of the game of chess. When Putin dies, and Xi Jinping joins him, and the United States rids itself of Biden, Harris and Pelosi – beginning in November – the pendulum may begin to swing back the other way.

As I have said many times, nothing is inevitable . . . except death.

THE COMING MOMENT OF TRUTH

Don’t forget taxes (increases) as well as the “hidden tax” of inflation due to so many more $Trillions in Federal deficit spending and borrowing. Our government is actively debasing our currency in dollar denominated assets, which explains the double digit increases in real estate and housing in the past two years.

Hard or tangible assets and collectibles are favored in a moderately inflationary environment (Not in Hyperinflation ) like we now have. Hard assets and commodities will continue to appreciate as our currency continues to lose spending power. This trend will last most all of this decade, at the very least.

Stagflation, wages that lag costs, price increases and all will continue long after President Biden and Nancy Pelosi are gone from the (political) scene. The reason is government debts (state and federal) are never vanquished or fully repaid, except in the case of a default- partial or complete. This would be our collective “Greek Moment”. That negative outcome and financial reality may be years away, but again, it could easily happen tomorrow. Nobody really knows how close we are to a financial waterfall.

One thing is for sure, the “pendulum swing” alone is not going to save us, as I have noticed Republicans and Democrats have both gone all-in with ever more Federal Deficit spending. So, nether party has shown a twit of interest in fiscal restraint or even approximating a balanced Federal budget for years and years. Consequently, a global monetary crisis awaits us and with it comes the so-called “Great Reset”.

They (pols) all know the dollar is “toast”. It won’t last long at current rates of printing, borrowing and spending (Modern Monetary Theory). Global financial change is coming, as trends supersede current and future heads-of-state. Better count on it too.

Thank you again, Craig.

If I was a betting man, which I am not, I would bet that a collapse of housing prices is coming.

See, e.g.,
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/us-home-sellers-cutting-prices-172040181.html (“US Home Sellers Cutting Prices Hits Highest Level Since 2019”) and https://time.com/6178366/house-prices-us/ (“Signs Are Pointing to a Slowdown in the Housing Market—At Last”) and https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10862005/Sellers-slashing-prices-levels-not-seen-pandemic-market-rapidly-cools.html (“Is the housing boom about to bust? Sellers are slashing prices at levels not seen since before the pandemic amid rapidly cooling market as hedge fund manager of The Big Short fame warns ‘It’s like watching a plane crash'”)

Again, my father owned real estate businesses in the Encino and Brentwood suburbs of Los Angeles. Each had “residential” (i.e., the sale of homes) and “income” (i.e., the sale of apartment buildings and commercial real estate) departments, long before the advent of “mega” real estate firms.

No sales occurred for one solid year; and we as a family might have gone under except he had no debt. The break came when he sold one of Brentwood’s finest mansions on Oakmont Drive, and made a bundle.

See https://www.dirt.com/moguls/finance/bruce-karsh-mansion-oakmont-drive-brentwood-13049/ [to the best of my recollection, this is the home, and the year was 1960]

He bought a new Cadillac, and he bought me a new Ford. 😊

When serious downturns come, the “newcomers” in the real estate business are wedded out and never return again. We haven’t had such a “reckoning” in decades, but I believe one is coming, which will shake our economic underpinnings to the roots.

ARE AMERICANS “STRONG ENOUGH” FOR WHAT IS COMING?

Such a real estate and economic “reckoning” would undoubtedly result in much (more) civil unrest, as well as increasing (urban) crime and more shootings in public places like we had recently in Texas. Unlike the 1930’s when Americans still had traditional (FAMILY) values and were restrained law abiding citizens, today’s youth know no such values or restraints. Many of them are weak people all-around.

So, today’s contemporary Americans such as Millineals are a veritable “wild card” should times get really tough. Many won’t be able to “maintain” their composure in the face of a real financial or monetary collapse and may “lose it” after they lose everything or are rendered homeless by a large Corporate landlords such as Blackrock or Invitation Homes. Therefore, I expect ever increasing Government authoritarianism to crack-down on the general populace in a desperate attempt to impose top-down social and financial control on people and their daily activities (Lock-downs).

We have not yet faced a real test of our collective metal but I suspect that Moment of Truth is coming for us, regardless. We are unprepared for such an event at this time.

Interesting, Craig.

You assume that the “authoritarian,” totally-despicable Democrats will be in power, who will impose such draconian measures. Right now, predictably, they are blaming the police for everything.

See, e.g., https://www.thedailybeast.com/texas-chief-admits-cops-made-wrong-decision-not-to-storm-robb-elementary-school-classroom-in-uvalde (“Chief Details Uvalde Kids’ Agonizing Calls to 911 as Cops Waited in the Hallway”)

Never forget that our military and police love Donald Trump, by and large, and are some of his strongest supporters.

Also, Americans – including young Americans – are more resilient than you may believe. For example, Hispanic-Americans are some of the hardest and most honorable workers I have ever seen or met.

Yes, there are gang members like MS-13 whom Brain Dead Joe and his Democrats have let into the country. But they prey on wonderful Hispanic-Americans too, such as those who have suffered in Uvalde, Texas.
