God love them, many Americans are ignorant about politics, which has been true for generations. Understandably they are focused on their day-to-day lives, and how to put food on their tables and a roof over their heads, and find schools that will educate their children. Many have not moved far from where they were born and raised, and they have never traveled abroad. But they have a gut and abiding sense about what is right and wrong.
Two tsunamis hit all of us: China’s Covid pandemic, and Brain Dead Joe Biden’s presidency. Like whirlwinds, these two events turned things upside down. Jobs were lost; businesses were shuttered; and lives were changed forever. China has never paid reparations, much less in the trillions of dollars that are owed globally[2]; and waiting in the wings for Biden to croak are Willie Brown’s former ho Kamala Harris, and Nancy Pelosi’s California uber-Leftist relation Gavin Newsom.[3]
The Biden-Harris presidency has been a disaster of monumental proportions. Our borders have been flung wide open, encouraging the cartels to bring China’s Fentanyl and other killer drugs into the country.[4] Human trafficking has become the norm; and the tragedies have been unspeakable.[5] There is nothing positive about the Biden-Harris presidency; and the hierarchy of the “progressive” Democrats know this better than anyone.[6]
Organized religion has been a threat to Biden, Pelosi and their ilk, who have masqueraded as devotees. Even America’s smallest religions have been threatened; for example, as anti-Semitism has risen nationally and globally. Yet, the sowers of evil will reap a whirlwind—or their just “rewards,” which are coming. The pendulum swings, and it is moving now.

HISTORY AND HUMAN NATURE CONTINUE FOREVER
Americans (voters) have ALWAYS been rather unsophisticated and a great many still are today. Let’s go back to 1971 when then President Nixon discontinued the prior practice of allowing foreign nations to redeem their U.S. Dollars for U.S. gold bullion.
President Nixon went on T.V. during prime time (interrupting the popular serial “Bonanza”) to inform the people that his executive action was necessary because of currency “speculators” in the markets. Of course, this explanation was very disingenuous and also quite a (political) lie, as well. How many Americans actually paid any attention to Tricky Dick’s announcement or to what really happened? Very few.
Truth was, Increasing deficit spending by Congress ( President Johnson’s “guns and butter”) was causing a huge problem in a U.S. dollar based global monetary system. As is the case today, It was “not working”. How many voters today recognize this same development? Again, probably only a tiny minority. Americans are traditionally very uninformed on the actual issues. Unsophisticated.
We all want to believe in fantasies (sic. delusions) such as “Climate Change” rather gracefully accept the hard reality we are in precipitous political and economic decline ( Fall of Rome, v 2.0). We have simply made too many bad political choices for way too long and its finally catching-up with us.( Yes, choices always have consequences.
It may be reassuring to simply blame President Joe Biden, but the social/political trends and public policy issues (excessive govt. spending and resulting deficits) we have been dealing with certainly predate the Biden Presidency. In-fact, they go back a very LONG ways.
The fact-of-the-matter is we have just continued to “normalize” our long journey into irrelevance for decades. Its been an incremental and cumulative set of issues we have all inherited. Still, We flatter ourselves with such nostrums as: ” Its always been that way”, somehow absolving ourselves from any form of personal responsibility to deal with it in some manner. We are passive investors & voters. We want to deny reality. We keep electing similar, like-minded politicians. This is the mindset of losers. Obviously, we first need to change our own mindset. We continue to resist personal change. We really do not care.
Rome experienced a similar situation by the end of the 2nd Century. Roman leadership also well knew they were diminishing and their empire was in economic and military decline (trouble), yet they were unable to stop the trend. Awareness alone is not sufficient. Faith without works is dead, as St. Paul once said. The Romans could not turn-back the clock. They were simply unable to meet the challenges with effective responses, as we are today. The rest is history. We are history, as well.

Thank you as always, Craig.
Yes, I agree that “faith without work is dead,” or words to that effect. We cannot simply hope that our ship of state is righted.
And most Americans want to be left alone, to survive. The challenges these days are staggering, leave aside the weather.

Why are we so preoccupied in recent times with “weather” and “climate”? Californians are especially obsessed with weather. Our forefathers (colonists, pioneers) forged ahead in our young Democracy primarily to build a better future for themselves and live freely. Weather was not even a consideration with any of them at the time. Freedom is why they immigrated here in the first place. They obviously did not come to America to get handouts from the Pawnee Indians either.
Today, we are affluent and therefore can afford to give low level issues like weather any importance or recognition at all. If you want perennial Springtime, then try and give Columbia a go. Easy climates have socialism and poverty and low economic outputs (productivity). In-addition, they are very unstable politically ( e.g. Brazil). Colonial Latin America has a totally different mindset and heritage than we do. Weather alone is really not a major economic factor at all. It just IS.

Again thank you, Craig.
Weather is and has been affecting many of our friends and loved ones. Lots of Americans have died, while others have lost everything, none of which is covered by insurance.
See, e.g., https://www.nbcnews.com/news/weather/california-weather-storms-flooding-rain-mudlsides-power-cuts-newsom-rcna65816 (“Californians urged to ‘stay vigilant’ as forecasters warn of 2 new storms”)
I know this as a fact because a friend of mine in Montecito is struggling to survive at 95. And years ago, I bought a small house below Pepperdine University’s campus in Malibu, only to have it washed out to sea in an El Niño storm. FEMA aid was a joke and not worth considering.
Your overriding point is that there are larger issues before us as a nation, and of course you are correct.

What do you think about it? Is this a pressing concern for the average Californian? Sure doubt it. Its part and parcel of the progressive agenda and its not just Calif. either.

I agree with your first sentence, Craig. He is every bit of that, but when Brain Dead Joe goes, he may become the Democrats’ “centerfold.”
And yes, Californians don’t seem to care, but the rest of the nation may, especially when his wife’s “affair” with Harvey Weinstein gets proper attention, followed by her seeking help from Weinstein.
Weinstein plays as well nationally as Jeffrey Epstein and Roman Polanski .

At A Time When God Is Needed Most, Why Are Churches In Decline?

Clearly, Godless China’s Covid hit churches and their attendance hard. Indeed, China should be paying reparations to them and to everyone who has been hurt.
But God is within each of us, as close as our next thought or breath. Yes, sometimes — or perhaps often — we become frustrated or even angry with God, but God is with us and never leaves us.
