Barack Obama: America’s Second Emperor?

1 01 2010

By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

Just days after announcing the surge of 30,000 more U.S. troops in his Afghan war, Barack Obama was in Oslo to accept the Nobel Peace Prize that was announced shortly after he became president—before he had done anything.  Next, he was in Copenhagen accepting a deal without any teeth to address “global warming,” in the midst of a blizzard that dumped snow on the Danish capital, suggesting to most people that the issue is a “hoax.”

Straddling his back-to-back trips to Europe, he was in Washington, D.C.—where he was met by a blizzard on his return from Denmark—pushing for the enactment of ObamaCare that Americans oppose[2].  The legislation is so reckless that it had to be rammed through the U.S. Senate on a partisan vote.  Also, the Democrats’ leadership hid the exact nature of the health care bill from senators, who surely had a right to know what they were voting for.

Then the president jetted off to spend the holidays in Hawaii[3], having irresponsibly saddled the people with ObamaCare—after the legislation clears a joint Senate-House conference committee and he signs some version of it into law—which is reprehensible, certainly with respect to its impact on Medicare patients[4].  His recent travels alone create a carbon footprint globally that boggles the mind, especially when so many Americans are suffering from an economic meltdown that shows few real signs of abating.  Indeed, 49 States have lost jobs since his so-called “Stimulus Package” was enacted.[5]

His popularity poll numbers have been plummeting[6], but he is seemingly oblivious to the will of the people and determined to remake the United States and the world in his own image.  Never mind that his life was shaped by years growing up in Hawaii and Indonesia, he is bent on changing this country.  He did not set foot on the American mainland until he attended Occidental College in Los Angeles and Columbia University in New York City; and when he did so, he was a druggie—according to his own admissions[7].

He ignores a super-majority of Americans who believe warming and cooling are natural phenomena that have occurred in cycles on this planet for millions of years.  Science and common sense tell us that some of the coldest temperatures recorded to date have occurred in recent years.[8] Yet, in remarks prepared for delivery in Denmark, he called on heads of state and other attendees to forge a deal, warning that “[u]nchecked, climate change will pose unacceptable risks to our security, our economies, and our planet.  This much we know.”[9]

What we know for certain is that scientific studies support the opposite conclusion, namely that “global warming” is a hoax; and they have been suppressed and their authors have been intimidated.  Also, the leaders who arrived in Copenhagen did so on private jets, and they commandeered a fleet of limousines in the midst of global economic problems—as if to thumb their noses at “commoners” worldwide who pay for their trips and lavish life styles, and say: “Let them eat cake.”

Obama is determined to close our detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and transfer its “detainees” (or jihadists) to prisons in the continental U.S., which the American people oppose.  Also, he pushes for the trial of terrorist mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in New York City—rather than in a military tribunal—which will make a public spectacle of the event, and expose the city to more chaos and the risk of additional attacks at a time when it is still traumatized by 9/11.

His decisions on both issues are wrong and irresponsible, which was underscored by the attempted Christmas Day terrorist bombing attempt on Northwest Airlines Flight 253.[10] Earlier in the year, the president had the audacity to give himself a “B+” for his performance in office.  However, it is doubtful that a majority of Americans would give him a grade even remotely approaching that.  In fact, he has been given an “F” for protecting Americans, and criticized harshly.[11]

Obama is pursuing his war in Afghanistan, but failing to heed the advice of his generals and trying to micromanage the war on the cheap, thereby endangering the mission as well as brave members of our military—which is stretched too thin already.  They do not deserve to be hamstrung into failure by an anti-war community organizer-president, who is half-heartedly supporting the war and unable (or unwilling) to state that the goal of winning is why we are there.[12]

He is pursuing deals with Russia’s “dictator-for-life” Putin, who is a smoother version of Stalin.  Both men are known for the brutal oppression and systematic elimination of their critics.[13] Russia is no longer a super power, and it is little more than a Third World country with severe economic problems.  It should not be helped by the United States, much less coddled; and Putin should be treated as our enemy[14]. Obama has befriended Venezuela’s Chavez too, and other tinhorn dictators and enemies of America.

In 1859, Joshua Abraham Norton—better known as “Emperor Norton I,” a celebrated citizen of San Francisco—proclaimed himself “Emperor of these United States.”  He issued numerous proclamations including his “order” that the U.S. Congress be dissolved by force.[15] If there was ever an American who had regal notions of grandeur and an imperial presidency, it is Barack Obama.  His naïveté[16] has been matched by his arrogance and overarching narcissism.  Ultimately, he may be viewed as a tragic Shakespearean figure who is forgotten and consigned to the dustheap of history.

In a famous Danish fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, an emperor marches in a procession under a beautiful canopy wearing a new suit of clothes that does not exist, provided by two swindlers. A little child says at last: “But he has nothing on at all.”[17] Obama’s core beliefs and modus operandi are becoming clear for Americans and the world to see[18], as the first decade of the 21st Century ends ominously.  He is a mistake of potentially cataclysmic proportions.[19]

I urge everyone to read an important Wall Street Journal article that is cited in footnote 19 above. See

It is written by the highly-respected Fouad Ajami, who is a professor at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a senior fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution.

Matt Drudge has a terrific post entitled, “CONGRESSIONAL SPENDING WASTE IN COPENHAGEN” (see, which echoes a CBS article on the same subject (see

They should be read by every American because they underscore the arrogance and contempt for the American people held by their so-called “leaders,” and the notion “Let them eat cake” that is mentioned above in my article.

The Copenhagen climate summit “junket” cost U.S. taxpayers more than a million dollars. See (“[C]onsidering the size of the deficit, and the fact that that no global deal would be reached[,] critics question the super-sized U.S. delegation—more than 165—leaving the impression there’s dollars to burn. In this case, more than a million.”)

Also, the “global warming” hoax continues (see, e.g., and, as well as the Democrats’ outrageous spending (see, e.g.,

Even more disturbing is that President Obama seems to be doing nothing to protect us from perhaps the greatest threat faced by the United States: a deadly EMP Attack, which might kill all except 30 million Americans. See, e.g.,

15 01 2010

Both Charles Krauthammer and Karl Rove have opined about the “crash” of Barack Obama. See and

In the final analysis, however, it may be due to the fact that Obama has lied again and again—yes, the “L” word—and engaged in fraud, which more and more Americans are realizing. Tragically, that is who he is. Read (or reread) his “Dreams from My Father” if you have any doubts. It is all there in black and white for every American to read, which should have been read before the 2008 elections. It is an eye-opener, to say the least!

His pledges about being open and transparent for all Americans to see were simply lies and more lies. For example, please watch this short Breitbart video about what the president said repeatedly concerning ObamaCare and C-SPAN:

Vice President Biden is equally “transparent,” which should come as no surprise. See

As if it were not bad enough that the trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed may take place in New York City—rather than in a military tribunal—the White House is considering a criminal trial in Washington, D.C. for Riduan Isamuddin, who was Osama bin Laden’s point man in Indonesia. See, e.g.,,0,5123433.story and

This Guantanamo Bay “detainee” is suspected of masterminding the bombing of a Bali nightclub in 2002, which killed 202 people. If the Obama Administration proceeds with this insanity, it would bring one of the world’s most notorious terrorists within steps of the U.S. Capitol, and needlessly subject the city to the risk of additional attacks, not dissimilar to what occurred at the Pentagon on 9/11.

At some point, it would not be surprising if serious thought is given to impeachment of Obama.

29 01 2010

The latest is that Obama has asked the Justice Department to look for other places to hold the trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed. However, the decision to consider new venues does not change the White House’s position that Mohammed should be tried in a civilian court.

The last sentence of the posting above may take on greater meaning.

Perhaps even more disturbing from a national security standpoint is the decision made by the Obama Administration with respect to the terrorist in the failed Christmas Day airline bombing, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, to give him the right to remain silent after he came under the full control of the U.S. government.

As the Washington Post’s Charles Krauthammer states in another of his brilliant articles:

We have since learned that the decision to Mirandize Abdulmutallab had been made without the knowledge of or consultation with (1) the secretary of defense, (2) the secretary of homeland security, (3) the director of the FBI, (4) the director of the National Counterterrorism Center or (5) the director of national intelligence (DNI).

The Justice Department acted not just unilaterally but unaccountably.

Surely there will come a time in the future when the issue of Obama’s impeachment will become real and urgent.

In politics, things can change with the wink of an eye. However, it would appear that the Obama presidency is unsalvageable. The root causes of that fact lie in the president’s character and his core beliefs. There is essentially nothing positive that he has done since he assumed the presidency, and it is likely to get a whole lot worse before he leaves office. Indeed, it has been said: “Jimmy Carter may be heading to #2 on the [list of] all-time worst presidents in American history, thanks to ‘O.’”

In the final analysis, Barack Obama may be hated more than George W. Bush has been by the Democrats, more than Bill and Hillary Clinton have been by the Republicans, more than Richard M. Nixon was hated by the Democrats, and even more than Lyndon B. Johnson was hated by a broad swath of the American electorate . . . and the list goes on and on. Obama may emerge as the most hated president in history.

Read (or reread) his book, “Dreams from My Father.” It is a real eye-opener, and every American should read it. He grew up in Hawaii and Indonesia, and he does not share traditional American values. He is a disciple of the far-Left; and Weather Underground co-founder Bill Ayers and Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. are truly his “soul brothers.” What most Americans care about, and believe in, are an anathema to these people. To them, most Americans are “foreigners” in their country.

Please do not take my word for it. Read the president’s book, which was written before political “handlers” filtered his words. He has never denounced what he wrote. See also’s-second-emperor/ and and and’s-legacy-more-suffering-to-come/

Key players in the Obama White House, including Vice President Biden, have argued for and believed our military presence in Afghanistan would be relatively short-lived and limited. The Pentagon pays lip service to that, but otherwise does essentially what it wants to do, as it did with Bill Clinton.

The Pentagon knows Obama cannot appear to be weak on defense and national security, so it has Obama “over a barrel” just like it had with Bill Clinton before him. Obama is reluctant to take on the military politically, and wisely so—much to the chagrin of his far-Left constituents, some of whom believe America does not need to be strong militarily. As I have stated before: “America’s economic and military strength go hand in hand. Both are indispensable ingredients of our great nation’s future strength.” See

See also,0,7804529.story (“President Obama will propose a freeze on non-defense-related federal spending. . . . Under Obama’s 2011 budget proposal, any discretionary spending unrelated to national security would be frozen at its current level”) (emphasis added); see id. (“With his job approval ratings in decline and his political fortunes worsening in recent days, Obama is fighting to keep his Democratic majorities in Congress through the fall elections. That means persuading disillusioned voters to reinvest in him and his party for another two years.”)

As stated above:

Earlier in the year, the president had the audacity to give himself a “B+” for his performance in office. However, it is doubtful that a majority of Americans would give him a grade even remotely approaching that. In fact, he has been given an “F” for protecting Americans, and criticized harshly.

See and (“The reason the country is uneasy about the Obama administration’s response to this attack is a distinct sense of not just incompetence but incomprehension”)

Now, it is argued that he deserves an “F” for world leadership too. See

The Joke Of All Jokes!

In the midst of a series of snow storms that have crippled our nation’s capital, and literally buried it, there is a bit of levity that deserves mention. The Senate Committee on Environment & Public Works has “postponed” a hearing entitled, “Global Warming Impacts, Including Public Health, in the United States.”

At Matt Drudge’s Web site, he is displaying the following links about the Washington weather:

25% of plows broken…
New Jersey road crews running out of salt…
Seats at a premium on planes, trains out…
18 forecasted for Philadelphia…
14 inches of snow coming in Chicago area…
Up to 1 Foot Expected In NYC…
Senate global warming hearing cancelled…
Sen. DeMint: Snow will continue ‘until Al Gore cries uncle’…
College students charged with felony snowball throwing…

Drudge’s headline is: “When Will It Stop?”

Clearly, “Global Warming” is running neck and neck with the “Tooth Fairy,” the “Loch Ness Monster” and the “Abominable Snowman” as one of the great myths of this and the last century. Surely those who believe it now—such as our “beloved” president—must have been charter members of the “Flat Earth Society” in another life.

A lawyer who used to work for me when he was a law student at UCLA, and who works in Washington, D.C. now, just sent an e-mail message that said:

Global warming sucks! Who [would] have thought it would lead to all these snow storms?

I doubt anyone could express such sentiments better than his pithy comments—from one who is trudging through the D.C. snows at the moment!

See also and and and

Last but not least, “global warming” is at best a natural phenomenon, but more than likely it is total fraud!

See and (“THERE has been no global warming for 15 years, a key scientist admitted yesterday in a major U-turn”) and (“[T]he world may not be warming much at all”) and (“The first 3 months of [2010] were the coldest ever reported in Miami Beach, Naples, and West Palm Beach, and was among the coldest winters ever for Ft. Lauderdale and Miami”)

Climategate Revisited

As mentioned in two earlier postings above—those of January 11, 2010, and February 10, 2010—it is likely that “global warming” is totally fraudulent and a farce.

The Wall Street Journal has an editorial with respect to this issue entitled, “The Continuing Climate Meltdown,” and subtitled, “More embarrassments for the U.N. and ‘settled’ science.”

Among the points worth noting are: (1) “the world may well have been warmer during medieval times than it is now,” (2) [t]his raises doubts about how much our current warming is man-made as opposed to merely another of the natural climate shifts that have taken place over the centuries,” (3) “there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming over the past 15 years,” and (4) “the U.N. reports are sloppy political documents intended to drive the climate lobby’s regulatory agenda.”

See id.

Why should anyone be surprised by the “wrongdoing” of the U.N.? Lots of us have felt for many years that it is an essentially-worthless organization anyway, which is at best marginally worthy of being perpetuated and supported financially by the U.S.

Last but not least, the latest Rasmussen poll shows that “just 35% of U.S. voters now believe global warming is caused primarily by human activity.”

The Death Of The “Global Warming” Movement As We Know It

Wonderful! The end of the “global warming” fraud!

The USA Today article states:

After more than a decade of fruitless efforts to negotiate a binding global treaty to cut greenhouse gas emissions, culminating in last December’s summit in Copenhagen, the USA may now pursue a more narrow strategy . . . .

Let us never forget that Obama was in Copenhagen accepting a deal without any teeth to address “global warming,” in the midst of a blizzard that dumped snow on the Danish capital, suggesting to most people that the issue is a “hoax.” He was met by a blizzard on his return to Washington, D.C. from Denmark too.

The article adds:

It has been a dramatic reversal of fortune for a movement that, just a few years ago, thought it was “invincible” . . . .

Wonderful as well!

Carol Browner, the White House’s director on climate and energy policy, says the White House will keep trying to marshal support for climate legislation because of its importance to job creation and national security. See id.

Baloney. This is further fraud by Obama and his minions, which provides additional reasons to promote and advance the impeachment process.

. . .

Few Americans worry about environmental issues, much less the “global warming” farce.
