The Day The Music Died

6 03 2024

By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

Some of us are old enough to remember that day.[2] For others, it may be the day when our cellphones died, and the Internet stayed down, and life as we know it ended. You say it isn’t possible, but it is. Too pessimistic, you say. Our enemies don’t think so.

We may find that food is impossible to buy; electric vehicles (EVs) cannot be charged, and are useless; and life as we know it comes to an end. Facebook users have found it impossible to reach its website; and while reportedly it has been restored, this may be a small peak into our lives to come.[3]

An EMP Attack against the United States would likely kill all except 30 million of us.[4] The rest would become virtual slaves, waiting for an enemy to conquer and ravish us—or to die gruesome deaths like the Donner Party.[5]

Not a pretty picture, you say. The long and short of it is that none of us are getting out of this life alive. Even the billionaires with their mansions fit for a king, and their private jets, leave this world with nothing at all, not even the shirts on their backs.[6]

Thus, to cite another song: “What’s it all about, Alfie?”[7] To be blunt, we come from God, and we return to God—each and every one of us, and our beloved animals.[8]

The Wonder Dog Is Dead, And Part of Me Died With Her

23 01 2024

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

She was part black Lab and part Pointer, according to my daughter; and she was named Ketzy by my granddaughter.  In March, she would have been fifteen years old.  Like lots of women, she lived life on her terms; and yes, she was spoiled.

I was with her at my daughter’s home on the night before she died; and I walked her to the nice green park at the end of their street, as I had done so many times before.  Then, she lay in front of their fireplace while we watched football and ate our dinner.

The next morning she seemed slow to rise when my son-in-law went to exercise at the local CrossFit. On his return, he and my daughter were at her side as she seemed to drift in and out of consciousness.

They took her to the vet’s, who put her to sleep.  Part of me died with her; and I asked that some of her ashes be buried with me.  Aside from writing every day, walking her had become part of my life and routines, which I enjoyed immensely.

Yes too, my kids and I have had other animals that we loved dearly, who are no longer with us.  And I used to hike with my son’s black Lab for hours at a time.  Each occupies a special place in our hearts that can never be replaced.

Dear God, please tell the Wonder Dog how much she is loved and missed.  And let our other loved ones who have gone before welcome and embrace her.  All are missed by each of us. Let her dance and run like a puppy again, and trip the light fantastic!

Helter Skelter, Revisited

12 08 2023

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

Eight years ago, an article was published here that set out dire warnings about the direction that the United States and other countries were taking.  Last year, the subject was revisited again.[2]  Since then, things have gotten decisively worse.

We have a demented and brain-addled criminal occupying our White House.  He should be in prison for the rest of his life, along with other members of the Biden Family Crime Syndicate and their co-conspirators—including Merrick Garland, Christopher Wray and Jack Smith.

Yet, waiting in the wings to replace him are Willie Brown’s former ho Kamala Harris; Nancy Pelosi’s relative Gavin Newsom from far-Left California; and perish the thought, the racist and anti-Semite Barack Obama’s angry wife, Michelle.  For many Americans, the opposing slate of Republican candidates is equally odious.

Censorship and the suppression of free speech are rampant at Elon Musk’s Twitter (or “X” as it is called today) and elsewhere, which rivals what Vladimir Putin did decades ago in Russia.[3]  Our Department of Injustice and FBI have been weaponized against those who would challenge or even question the insidious Biden regime’s criminal conduct.

The eco-Nazis have foisted electric vehicles on us, even though most Americans don’t want them.  Man-made “global warming” is a hoax.  Our planet has gone through warming and cooling cycles for millions of years, which will continue after all of us are long gone.  But pollution is a real issue, with respect to which little to nothing is being done.  India and China continue to pollute; and massive gyres of marine debris accumulate in our oceans.

Illegal aliens have crossed our borders, with almost nothing done to impede them.  With them have come cartel members and human traffickers, and deadly drugs like Fentanyl that can kill instantly.  Also, such illegal aliens displace America’s homeless who seek shelter; and take jobs away from those who have worked hard to establish an economic foothold here.

We are engaged in a tragic war in Ukraine, where the unspeakable atrocities rival anything that has ever been done by human beings to each other.  There are grave concerns that the warfare will spread beyond Ukraine; and that China will move on Taiwan or elsewhere in the world.

And just when we thought that China’s Covid pandemic was confined to the past, it may be rearing its ugly head again and coming back.  Americans and others globally have been buffeted by this tragedy; and businesses and jobs are gone throughout the country, which will never return.

Our cities are cesspools of homelessness and lawlessness, where the perpetrators of crimes don’t even get slaps on their wrists anymore.  Tragically, many believe this is merely part of America’s decline like that of ancient Rome, which is irreversible once the “rot” sets in.  Tragically, our freedoms and politics may be following the same trajectory.

Our churches, schools, groups such as the Scouts, and our history are under constant attack too, with their opponents determined to destroy them.  Indeed, the thugs, slugs, hoods and mongrels of “Black Lives Matter,” Antifa and other far-Left groups have burned our cities and killed innocent Americans including our police; and they have destroyed black and other businesses.  Yet, they have not been punished.  Thugs like George Floyd are lionized.

We have family members pitted against each other, who disagree over the direction of our nation, or the education in our schools at all levels.  And because of economic hard times for so many, once-beloved animals are neglected or abandoned altogether—or euthanized by veterinarians who become willing accomplices of the drug companies that push their products.[4]

Is the United States on an irreversible downward spiral, whereby anyone such as Donald Trump who might avert it is destroyed politically and legally, or actually killed like Abraham Lincoln before him?  And will artificial intelligence (or AI) destroy us?  Where is God in the midst of so much unfathomable chaos?  Have we been abandoned, and left to our own devices, like during the Dark Ages . . . or before?

Some Dogs Are Nicer And More Loving Than Human Beings

27 07 2023

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

And the Wonder Dog is one of them.  She is so, so sweet.[2]

Yet, a local vet[3] has prescribed drugs that fail to improve the quality of her life, and may contribute to her euthanization.  We don’t live in Canada where that is an increasingly-common practice for humans.

Animal rights’ advocates should be up in arms, condemning cruelty to animals.  Yes, some Americans flee to Canada to be euthanized.  But a life is truly a precious gift from God, not something to be destroyed.  Loving animals are cherished, certainly by most.

They often save the lives of those who are blessed to have them, not some possession to be thrown on a scrap heap when they become costly, ill, aged or inconvenient.  And vets who aid and abet this need to learn that animal safety and longevity are their duty, and their raison d’etre professionally—or else they may become the scourge of animal rights’ advocates.

Indeed, the male vet at this small local clinic has reportedly said that he feels the time is here—to kill her—it’s just up to the family to say when.  How utterly irresponsible.  This vet has been prescribing doses of the drug Gabapentin twice a day.  The potential side effects of this drug are immense.[4]

Wonderful dogs like this one need to die naturally, as all of us will do some day, not be killed by medications prescribed by unfeeling and incompetent vets to families that do not appreciate fully the ramifications of what they are doing, much less the positive options before them.
