The Wonder Dog Is Dead, And Part of Me Died With Her

23 01 2024

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

She was part black Lab and part Pointer, according to my daughter; and she was named Ketzy by my granddaughter.  In March, she would have been fifteen years old.  Like lots of women, she lived life on her terms; and yes, she was spoiled.

I was with her at my daughter’s home on the night before she died; and I walked her to the nice green park at the end of their street, as I had done so many times before.  Then, she lay in front of their fireplace while we watched football and ate our dinner.

The next morning she seemed slow to rise when my son-in-law went to exercise at the local CrossFit. On his return, he and my daughter were at her side as she seemed to drift in and out of consciousness.

They took her to the vet’s, who put her to sleep.  Part of me died with her; and I asked that some of her ashes be buried with me.  Aside from writing every day, walking her had become part of my life and routines, which I enjoyed immensely.

Yes too, my kids and I have had other animals that we loved dearly, who are no longer with us.  And I used to hike with my son’s black Lab for hours at a time.  Each occupies a special place in our hearts that can never be replaced.

Dear God, please tell the Wonder Dog how much she is loved and missed.  And let our other loved ones who have gone before welcome and embrace her.  All are missed by each of us. Let her dance and run like a puppy again, and trip the light fantastic!

Lots Of Us Ignore Fake News

20 01 2024

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

And that applies to national and international news from ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, MSNBC, CNN, C-SPAN, Newsmax, the Washington Post, the New York Times, Drudge . . . and the list goes on and on.  Most have a pathetic Leftist slant or bias, which is not worth watching or reading.

Sadly, this has been true for decades, which is why brain-addled Joe Biden is occupying our White House—when he is not “tuned out” completely, or “vacationing”—and Willie Brown’s former ho is standing in the wings waiting for him to croak, quite literally.

So where can Americans get reliable, relatively-non-biased news, which is free and at our fingertips?  Try the American edition of the UK’s Daily Mail—with respect to which the disgraced former Prince Harry just dropped his lawsuit against.[2]

If this pathetic man-child—and the lapdog of the most-despised woman in the world, #MEGXIT—cannot stomach a fight against the Mail because it told the truth, there is hope for the rest of us who are farther down the global food chain.

What The Left Has Foisted On Us Are A Pack Of Lies

19 01 2024

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

1.  Joe Biden is America’s President

He stands atop a pack of lies, liars and unbridled criminality.  Indeed, he may be the worst individual to assume the presidency in American history; and his cohorts have emulated the Nazis in their tactics.[2]

2.  EVs, including buses

EV sales seem to have reached their plateau in the USA.  Hertz has scaled back the leasing of them.  Charging stations cannot be found at some of America’s largest retailers (e.g., Costco); and some auto dealers are forfeiting their franchises rather than go through expensive changes to accommodate EVs.  EV buses are being replaced by gasoline or diesel-powered buses.[3]

3.  Man-made global warming

Our planet has gone through warming and cooling cycles for millions of years, which will continue long after each of us and our progeny leave this earthly realm.  Pollution is a separate issue, with India and China being the biggest polluters globally.

4.  Abortions

Yes, a woman’s body is sacred.  But so is the life of another being, from the moment of conception.  And to kill that being is Infanticide, which must be punished like any other wrongful death.[4]

5.  Open borders

Killer drugs such as Fentanyl from China are entering our country, along with ruthless cartel members from Mexico such as MS-13—and human traffickers, and those who engage in prostitution and sexual slavery.

6.  Policeman of the world

Brain-addled Joe has us engaged in multiple disastrous wars simultaneously (e.g., Ukraine, the Middle East), which may place us squarely in the midst of World War III.[5]

7.  God is dead

At a time when God—or one’s Higher Power—is needed most, organized religions are being attacked.  The effects of the Covid pandemic have been widespread, shuttering businesses and long-standing institutions; and churches are no exception.

8.  Everyone is created equal

In the eyes of God, each of us is equal.  In reality, economic and educational differences prevail.  To alter them, economic preferences have been given to the “disadvantaged,” which have come under increasing attacks in recent years.

9.  History can and should be rewritten

Like it or not, we can learn from history.  But there are those who seek to rewrite or distort it; and some are bent on tearing down monuments or defacing them, and changing time-honored names of institutions.

10.  Freaks of nature are God’s children too

Each of us is a child of God, who is loved.  However, the idea of manipulating or brain-washing young children is repugnant, and must be stopped.

11.  Euthanization is illegal except for dogs and other animals

It has been said: “The average dog is a nicer person than the average person.”  Like Infanticide, the euthanization of dogs should be treated as an abhorrent criminal act.

12.  Our police are criminals

The thugs, slugs, hoods and mongrels of “Black Lives Matter,” Antifa and other far-Left groups have killed innocent Americans including our police.  They have destroyed black and other businesses; yet they have not been punished.  No wonder our police are retiring early, or just resigning, which is causing crime to rise dramatically.

13.  Scams

Scams are probably as old as the first humans to inhabit this planet.  But today they may be more pervasive and malevolent than ever.  While Seniors may be easy targets, young Web users—especially gullible kids and young women—may become easy prey.[6]

. . .

These are merely a sampling of the challenges facing Americans today, which must be addressed and rectified when the next Administration arrives in January of 2025.[7]

The Unity Scam Continues

18 01 2024

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

At a time when God is needed the most in the United States and globally, a greedy godless American publishing company—masquerading as a church—has stopped offering its Daily Word online for free.[2]  A female ancestor of mine began reading it a century ago; and it has helped me and countless others.

But the misfits who run Unity today, and who embrace and include freaks of nature, do not see it that way.  Among other things, they require approval of membership; and some “applicants” are kept in perpetual limbo—or in “pending” status.[3]  Since when has God required such a litmus test?[4]

Those who need God the most—for example, the homeless of this world—should have free, easy and unfettered access to the Daily Word, without any requirements or impediments.  They are blessed if they have a cellphone or computer, or access to either.

The so-called “ordained ministers” of Unity should hide in shame for misusing God’s name in what they do.  They are an affront to everything that is dear and sacred; and they should resign immediately, and join the ranks of others who have misused religion for their own personal gains.[5]

All Glory Is Fleeting

7 01 2024

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

This is a quotation that the actor George C. Scott delivered at the conclusion of “Patton”:

For over a thousand years, Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of a triumph – a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeters and musicians and strange animals from the conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conqueror rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. Sometimes his children, robed in white, stood with him in the chariot, or rode the trace horses. A slave stood behind the conqueror, holding a golden crown, and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory … is fleeting.[2]

I have known billionaires, and famous politicians and movie stars[3]; and I have known those who have departed this earthly realm without leaving a trace, yet to me they meant everything.  Perhaps it is useful to repeat what I wrote about my only heroes in life:

My parents were a “golden couple” with everything going for them.  My father was in real estate; and he bought part of the Al Jolson-Ruby Keeler estate in Encino, California, which he planned to subdivide – keeping one of the building sites for us.  Plans were completed for a new, lovely home on it.  Then, like a bolt of lightning out of the blue, my mother was determined to have the convergence of two rare skin diseases: Lichen Sclerosus et Atrophicus and scleroderma.  They were diagnosed by doctors at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California, and later treated by doctors who had been trained at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, the state in which my parents were born and raised and where they met in grade school.  These conditions occurred before the advent of health insurance, which would have helped our family financially.  They affected only the right side of her body; and she came to my sixth grade graduation in a wheelchair.  Such conditions ceased abruptly when she had her right leg amputated; and she learned to walk with an artificial leg.

Years later, during the Vietnam War, she organized volunteers at the Red Cross’ offices in Westwood, California, where we lived and where the UCLA campus is located.  She was honored for the work that she had done by being named the local chapter’s “Woman of the Year,” in helping U.S. military families and their service members in the war zone connect and cope with the stresses of family emergencies in the states, and emergencies that the service members encountered in Vietnam, Cambodia and elsewhere that the U.S. was engaged.  My father worked seven days a week to pay the staggering medical and other bills; and my parents are my only heroes in life.

Today, as a result of the federal Americans with Disabilities Act and other statutes, monumental changes have been made, which were not thought possible when my mother and father struggled with her wheelchair and other issues. For example, accessibility requirements have been levied on public accommodations, which means that simple things like curbs at the corners of streets have been rebuilt into ramps to accommodate wheelchairs; buses today have lifts for such wheelchairs; and the list goes on and on.[4]

Each of us has heroes or dear friends who are gone now, seemingly without a trace.[5]  When one searches the Web, most of their names do not appear.  It’s as if they never existed, but they did exist; and they are important to each of us.  Mine include Annette H. Greer, who was like a second mother to me throughout my mother’s illness and my father’s financial travails, and throughout my life.

Like the dinosaurs, they did exist; and they must never be forgotten.  They were God’s wonderful gifts to each of us.

America Is In Tatters

2 01 2024

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

Crime is omnipresent.[2]  It’s as if the inmates are running the asylum, and the sane are at their mercy.  Truly, it’s the world turned upside down.  Valiant members of our law enforcement are condemned for doing their jobs.  Some literally risk their lives.[3]  Many are resigning, or are taking early retirements because they view their jobs as both dangerous and thankless.

When hoods like George Floyd are lionized, it turns one’s stomach.  When the thugs, slugs, hoods and mongrels of “Black Lives Matter,” Antifa and other far-Left groups can burn our cities, and kill innocent Americans including our police—without being punished—madness and anarchy reign.  Black and other businesses have been destroyed; and elderly blacks fear for their lives in public housing projects and elsewhere.

Those Americans who can afford it are leaving our cities in droves, which underscores and exacerbates the deterioration of America.  Perhaps even worse, more and more Americans have given up hope that things will get better[4]; and they are worried about loved ones traveling to or living in crime-ridden cities.

Needless to say, both friends and enemies abroad are watching the deterioration of America carefully, and responding accordingly.[5]  Once a beacon of hope and freedom to the world, America’s present state is sobering to say the least.  Yet, immigrants from other countries flock here, having left their countries behind, and having braved life-threatening obstacles to get here, with many not surviving the journey.

Challenging The Sacred Cows As 2023 Comes To An End

26 12 2023

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

The American media—or “Fake News,” as Donald Trump prefers to call it—fills us with a daily barrage of “tripe.”  It is intended to shape our opinions; and our views of ourselves, our communities, our states, our nation, and yes of our wider world.  Products are sold in countless ways; and we are buffeted with advertising from dawn to dusk, birth to death.

When such “attacks” crater—as in the case of Anheuser-Busch’s use of a “freak of nature” to pitch its Bud Lite beer brand—billions of dollars in sales revenues can evaporate overnight.[2].  Disney, which has been part of our lives since we were kids, was hit hard by similar problems.  Indeed, as I draft this article on my phone with the TV on in front of me and its sound muted, there are two men kissing in an ad for some drug.

Few of us grew up with such cultural challenges; and parents are rebelling nationally against their young children being indoctrinated from an early age.  Similarly, university administrators are being fired for any equivocation about anti-Semitism, instead of vigorously condemning it.  The abortion issue is “hot-wired,” as many women assert that it is their right to choose, while opponents claim that every life is precious, and any abortion constitutes the crime of Infanticide that must be punished.

In this context, several “sacred cows” can be considered:

•  Are Americans such colossal dupes they fail to realize that brain-addled Joe Biden is leading us to multiple military conflicts globally, and putting our military forces in harm’s way, which may result in a full-fledged World War III?

In the Middle East including Iraq, the Red Sea and the Suez Canal; in Ukraine; off the Korean Peninsula; relating to Taiwan; and here at home.[3]  Are we the protectors of the world?

Also, Americans are realizing how totally corrupt the Biden Family Crime Syndicate and their co-conspirators are[4]; and how the Democrats—and yes, I began as one—are distorting everything that we cherish and hold dear.[5]  And how the eco-Nazis have distorted the world in which we live.[6]

•  Israel is our ally, and must be supported fully and unconditionally.

This is pure poppycock.  Long before Hamas’ attacks of October 7th, Benjamin Netanyahu and the so-called “Settlers” and rabid Zionists were attacking Palestinians and others.  Barack Obama hated the Apartheid in South Africa, which he has compared with the Israeli Apartheid.

Any notion that Jews have some God-given right to the land is a fairytale, and tantamount to saying that all of America should be given back to the Indians—or trillions of dollars in reparations should be paid to them.

Decades ago, Netanyahu morphed into his ancestors’ Nazi oppressors.  He was hated by such giants as Ariel Sharon and the Rabins; and Leah Rabin blamed him for her husband Yitzhak’s tragic assassination.  She believed that peace was impossible with Netanyahu at the helm of Israel’s government; and her views were prescient and prophetic.

In the last decade or more, anti-Semitism has been growing exponentially, with fewer globally believing in what the Israelis are selling.  Tragically, innocent Jews are denying their “Jewishness.”  Some of us remember Israel’s unprovoked attack on the USS Liberty, and believe something similar can happen again.[7]

Also, no one should forget how Israel pushed us into the tragic Iraq War by falsely claiming that Saddam Hussein had WMDs.  This resulted in 5,000 Americans dying, and many more being maimed for life—our “Wounded Warriors”—and more than a trillion dollars wasted.

When will the butcher Netanyahu be taken out?  At the very least, he must be tried by the International Criminal Court for his many crimes.[8].  Tragically, Jews are the most hated group of individuals globally; and Netanyahu has fanned the flames of anti-Semitism, and embarked on genocide.[9]

•  The United States is a democratic country, and its elections are free and fair.

More and more, as we analyze the elections of 2020, it is clear that election abuses took place, which are being covered up to this day.  Many Americans rightly ask: Did my vote really count?  Clearly, the integrity of our elections must be restored.[10]

•  We are a nation of immigrants, who should welcome those from other countries.

Even those who have supported open borders are saying now that enough is enough.[11]

•  We are not at risk of annihilation, nor should we worry about rising crime nationwide.

We have enemies globally who seek to weaken if not destroy us.  By committing our military to areas of the world that subject us to maniacal risks, we engage in destructive heresy.  We are not the policemen of the world.  Those days are long gone.  For example, protecting or perpetuating the Apartheid state of Israel is not in our best interests, if it ever was.  Few Americans realize that President Franklin D. Roosevelt and General George Marshall opposed the creation of Israel; and then FDR died.

Crime seems omnipresent in America today.  The thugs, slugs, hoods and mongrels of “Black Lives Matter,” Antifa and other far-Left groups have burned our cities and killed innocent Americans including our police.  They have destroyed black and other businesses; and they have unleashed massive fears among elderly blacks and others, as the latest crimes are the news of the day, every day.  Yet, they have not been punished.  It’s as if the inmates are truly running the asylum.  Those days must end.

•  Is our greatest enemy, the thought police?

When all is said and done, is nothing sacred in this world?  It’s as if the Pigs in George Orwell’s “Animal Farm” have triumphed, and we have given up—if we let them.[12, 13]  Authoritarianism would reign over democracy.  Despite the Stalinist, Hitleresque attempts to regimen us, we have a Higher Power, to which everything else is subservient.[14]

Americans can handle the truth, even the unvarnished truth.  But they will not tolerate lies.  Is the assassination of John F. Kennedy one of those lies?[15]

. . .

Next, why would anyone who is not a rabid Democrat ever want to run for the highest offices in the land, after witnessing what Donald Trump and his family have endured, and continue to be subjected to—along with their supporters?[16]

. . .

Lastly, Merry Christmas to all, and best wishes to you and your families for the new year ahead.  Long live free speech!

Jesus of Nazareth

24 12 2023

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

At this time of the year, billions celebrate Christmas globally, not always understanding the day’s and festivities’ origin or history.  In fact, it celebrates the birth of Jesus[2], with Christianity being the largest religion in the world[3]—whose spread might not have occurred without Alexander the Great.[4]

To understand the life of Jesus, one might wish to watch a wonderful British program starring Robert Powell and a distinguished international cast, which aired in 1977.[5]  Few historical programs are perfect, but this one is worth watching[6], even by those who have experienced God.[7]

Merry Christmas to all!

Barbarians At The Gate

15 12 2023

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

It is estimated that 20 million illegal aliens are in the United States today; and most have arrived since Joe Biden assumed the presidency.[2]  With them have come hardened criminals; sex traffickers who have preyed on the innocent; killer drugs such as Fentanyl from China; and those who have fled their own countries for a better life in America.[3]

As the Middle East was torn asunder because of wars in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, refugees fled through Greece and other countries for what they perceived as better lives in Europe.  Similarly, as war-torn Israel implodes[4], it can be expected that many Palestinians and other refugees will seek the safety first of neighboring Egypt and Jordan, and then more distant shores that they perceive as safer and more-inviting havens.

This is a tale that has been told down through the centuries, as the Great Alexander and his Macedonians changed the history of the known world.[5]  Then came the Romans; and while many would scoff at the parallels, so did Adolf Hitler and his Nazis, who ushered in the freeways of today, as well as the colonization of the Moon, Mars and beyond.

No one should forget that Wernher von Braun and other Germans gave impetus to our space efforts.[6]  Will there be “illegal aliens” who reshape our history for the better?  There are no indigenous Americans.  All of our ancestors came from somewhere else, including the “native Americans” whose ancestors crossed the “Bering Land Bridge” from Siberia.[7]

Why J Street Deserves Support

11 12 2023

  By Timothy D. Naegele[1]

I came across this organization about a year after it was founded in Washington, D.C. by Jeremy Ben-Ami, whose ancestors were among the fifty-or-so families who founded Tel Aviv.  His credentials were impeccable.  Years ago, I wrote a review of his fine book, “A New Voice For Israel,” which I believe has withstood the test of time, albeit it is out of print.[2]

In it, he concludes about the treatment of Palestinians and others: “Is this how I wanted to be treated when I was a minority in another people’s country?”  Isn’t this the nub of it—as a law school professor of mine used to say—or the central issue today?  Benjamin Netanyahu has avoided jail by responding to the Hamas attacks of October 7th and being as vicious as the attackers.  But this should surprise no one.

Decades ago, he morphed into his ancestors’ Nazi oppressors; and he and the “Settlers” and rabid Zionists have exercised brutality that rivals their opponents.  Indeed, it bears repeating that he was hated by Ariel Sharon and the Rabins; and the “Lioness” Leah Rabin—whom I heard speak at the Washington Press Club—blamed him for her husband’s tragic assassination.  She believed that peace was impossible with Netanyahu at the helm of Israel’s government; and her views were prescient and prophetic.

Anti-Semitism has been rising for more than a decade; and it has been impacting American Jews, Israeli Jews, and those who live elsewhere and have been forced to hide and deny their “Jewishness.”  But the spread of anti-Semitism may have only begun.  And ill-conceived efforts have been undertaken in the United States and other countries, to emasculate free speech, instead of discussing these issues rationally and unemotionally.

In ancient Rome, the practice evolved of killing the messenger, or the bearer of bad news.[3]. Today, those who criticize Netanyahu or his fellow travelers are maligned; and university leaders who do not fall into lockstep are forced to resign or grovel before their critics.  In leading J Street, Ben-Ami has been required to walk an ever-diminishing narrow line, to maintain the organization’s financial and political support.  Hopefully, those who follow him will be equally skilled and adroit.

Why is any of this relevant to those of us who are not Jewish?  Because lots of us know Jews who have been our friends since grade school.  And because Israel may be destroyed by Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs, including EMP weapons); and our friends may worry about their futures and that of their families.[4]  And because such a conflagration might reach our shores.[5]

While J Street is a “devout” Leftist group that supports brain-addled Joe Biden—and seems to abhor the GOP, Independents and our President Donald Trump—nevertheless it is a voice of reason regarding Israel, where such voices are in short supply.  And thus far its leader, Jeremy Ben-Ami, has not wavered on the issue of free speech for all, which is a blessing and critical to perpetuate the ideals that undergird our great country.[6]
